Need you 'creative' suggestions ladies!

Our wedding date it the same as my Grandparents, and they will be celebrating their 60th Anniversary on our wedding day....

Anyone have any suggestions of how we can honor then that day and make it memorable and special for them too??

TIA

You read my mind. That would be such a cute idea! I think they'd love it.

You can get them there own cake and you can also

You can maybe find out what their song is and have it palyed just for them to dance to

My cousin's wedding last year was the same date as my grandparent's 50th and they played their wedding song 'don't know why I love you but I do' (how funny is that?) after my cousin danced with her dad, and her DH danced with his mom. It was really nice.

I was thinking the same thing - I think that is a great idea!

Re: Need you 'creative' suggestions ladies!

my idea is similar to those mentioned.

you can do the anniversary dance.

this is where everyone who is married is asked to get on the dancefloor. you can play 'their' song at this time.

about 15-20 seconds into the song, the dj/mc lowers the volume and announces that 'everyone married less than 1 day must take a seat' the bride and groom sit.

every so often the music is lowered again to announce another amount of time.... less than five years, less than 10 years, and so on.

this way the last couple dancing will be your grandparents. and they can finish their song on the dance floor. you can then present them with flowers or something special.

i hope i explained this correctly.

best of luck

i thought so too.... i don't remember where i first came accross the anniversary dance, but i loved it!!!

i'm going to be using it lieu of the bouquet toss... there won't be any single women at my wedding, so i thought this would be fun

my response

i am going to do this for my parents it will only be just shy of 40 years but they will be married the longest and i am not doing the bouquet toss, its a nice way to honor them

all good ideas so far... for me, i'm not tossing the bo-k so i'm going to present a nice arrangement of flowers to my parents and FIL's as a congrats on being married so long and being an inspiration to vinny and myself... i would do this with my g-parents if they were still alive but i only have my one grandfather left so that won't work. but it would be nice for you to do that-- along with a song dedication.
