Need your advice, with POLL - do I busle or not bustle during pics around Manhattan??
Ok, the back of dress is the most stunning and the most intricate. We are taking pics around Manhattan with the bridal party for 3 hours before the wedding. I've very worried about the bottom of my dress ( we are going to Times Square and Central Park to get pictures taken)....so, while my dress looks prettiest down, I am thinking that I should bustle it for the pictures around the city. But, then it is only really down for the ceremony, and that makes me a little sad, because the bottom of the dress is just so pretty.....
What should I do?

Tough call...... I would probably just hold the train in my arms so that while you are walking around it doesnt' get dirty... and take it with it down if you are taking a picture where it is not so clean to put it down then you could bustle it for that picture if it isn't too much trouble

If it's the most stunning part of the dress I wouldn't bustle it. If you're worried about it getting dirty, grab a white sheet and put it down on the ground underneath you while posing for pics, and carry the train while walking around.

If it's the most stunning part of the dress I wouldn't bustle it. If you're worried about it getting dirty, grab a white sheet and put it down on the ground underneath you while posing for pics, and carry the train while walking around.

Me too. Can they add a little loop on the bottom of the dress for you to carry it?

I think you should discuss the issue of your dress with your photgrapher. He can probably bring someting to lay on the ground or make some recomendations.Good luck, your pictures are going to be awesome!

I wouldn't bustle it. You can leave it down while taking pictures and hold it while walking. Ask photographer to bring something to lay the train on while you're talking pictures. I'm sure they've done it before. HTH!!!!

While I would want to leave it down while running all over NYC..I would probably get sick of carrying around the dress all day...3 hrs of pictures in two different locations schleping your dress..sounds very tiring..also if it's really warm out, the sweat factor...You could always get your bridal party to help schlep it, but then they're going to get tired from it..

I am also running around NYC for photos prior to the ceremony and I heard to use a white sheet or a clear garbage bag (especially if it is wet). This may sound funny, but I was told to cut two holes in the clear bag for your feet (to step through), and lift from the outside of the bag so the dress is basically in the bag while walking around. Then lower the plastic when you stop for the photos. You protect the bottom of the dress and because the bag is clear, you can not see it in photos.HTH

wow - that is good advice, but i don't know if i see myself carrying around a trash bag. maybe i'll just carry my dress around. i dunno....

A friend of mine took pics around manhattan and they are so gorgeous. she has these amazing shots in front of the flat iron. and she had her train down, i think adding to the gorgeousness of the pics. she said she just carried it around from pic to pic

wow - that is good advice, but i don't know if i see myself carrying around a trash bag. maybe i'll just carry my dress around. i dunno....
either way you are carrying it around. I would have to say though that you will be 'carrying' your dress regardless. It's going to get on the floor at some point and you'll be picking it up and scooping it your arms to avoid regular dirt not just the drag around dirt.
I took pics in my aunts house and even with holding the train it got filthy underneath just by brushing against her very clean floor!
