Need your DIY expertise

I am sooo not crafty and I attempted to make my memoy candle last night and it didn't work out so well.

I bought the self adhesive vellum paper, which worked great but what is the best type of glue to use to glue th ribbon on the vellum?

And would that same type of glue work if I wanted to glue like a peice of jewelry. Like a pearl or something??
