We have written a completely new message board. Before we go live with it we would like your feedback. There are many changes and improvements that will take some time to get used to. The new boards will solve most of the concerns everyone has expressed and will function a lot faster. What is posted now is only for viewing the features and is not live. So, you can`t post or reply to this demo. We have imported some of the messages from this board so you can get an idea of the function. Pleae give us your feedback so we can make any adjustments before going live. Also, when we make the switch to the new boards we will need to take this board down for an entire weekday while we import the current postings. Please let us know what weekday is best for this. I don't like the new live format at all.
Very confusing.
I will never use it. I like this easy format the way it is and use it all the time.
Please tell me the other is for live only!!!

the board is easier to search on, and much less 'messy'. Plus we can put images onto the board much easier.

I love the new format. I can read the entire tread without having to click on each message. Also I like seeing the subject of each post in the new format. A lot less scrolling. What is the Forum Mail for?

I like the new format - a lot less time wasted moving from message to message. I also like being able to quickly see the list of message topics, rather than having to scroll. Thanks for the new changes and the chance to comment!
As for a weekday that would be good for the change over - what about a Tuesday?

I like it too...it always takes too much time linking to each message in the thread...this way it is all on the screen as soon as you open up the original.
As for the day to shut down, no day is good because then I will go through withdrawl!! :)

I'm with debbus. I like the old format much better. This new way is too confusing. If you are going to change it though I think Fridays are the best time to take the board down. A lot of people don't post on Friday's I guess they are fgetting ready for their weekends.

Will the thread that someone responded to most recently be listed first? If so great!
Can we include HTML to add images and such? Linking to images hosted elsewhere would be great. :-)

Is much better....
after I figured out how to navigate around it. I agree with a few on the being able to see all the threads w/o having to click on each one.
I would say Tuesday or Wedn. for having the site be out of service.

I like it better
I like the format a lot better because there is much less scrolling and the threads are more easy to navigate. I also like the way in which the control buttons are arranged beneath the message. Great job.
I would say that a Friday is probably best to take the site down.

I like the new format a lot - definitely easier to navigate and scroll. I didn't try the search, so I can't comment there.

There are options at the bottom of the forum page (example at http://www.liweddings.com/chatnew/forum.asp?ID=1 ) that will let you choose the date range and what you want the topics sorted by. The default setting is so that the topics most recently posted to are displayed first.
Re 'Can we include HTML to add images and such?'
When posting a new topic or reply, there is an option found below the smiley icons that says 'Insert Image'. By clicking this you will be prompted to enter the URL (location on the internet) of the image you wish to insert. This will enter code into your post that the programming will understand to mean that your image should be there. When the post is made, your image will appear in the body of the post where you chose to insert it. Additionally, if you have an image on your computer and it is under 50k in file size, you may upload the image along with your post.

When submitting a post or reply, there is an option that says 'Notify me when someone replies to this post'. By checking this box you will receive an email when someone replies to the message you just posted.

the names attached to the messages along the left do not belong to the person who wrote them...I don't know if it is supposed to be that way or what. I can't decide if I like it better..it looks a little confusing to me.
