I want to throw my honey a surprise 40th Bday Party...I need suggestions on places in Brooklyn or Queens. I'm on a tight budget so I would probably go for buffet style for about 50 people. Anyone know of any good places that are affordable? TIA

There's a chinese buffet in Georgetown called CHina Star. They have a side room. There's also a buffet chinese restaurant on Nostrand Avenue and Avenue Z.

try oneils in maspeth the food is good and there prices arent bad for parties and they have a private room
or try durows in glendale i think they have few rooms

sarabella's on Metropolitan in Forest Hill (?) is the perfect place for a guy who likes baseball
the owner decorated it in huge paintings of all the great players.... not too sure how affordable though
dinners range from 12-25 dollars i belive....i wouldnt know cause my fil pays the bill...he knows the owner but its a great place

There is a great Dim Sum place on Kissena Blvd. in Flushing. I think the name of the place is East.
