Need your help and suggestions

So here is the deal my dad and I are not very close and haven't been for years. My brother is walking me down the aisle and in order to not make my dad feel left out I agreed to doing a father daughter dance with him as long as he picked the song. Well my dad called me the other night and told me he couldn't figure out a song and for me to pick one. I have no clue what to pick I don't want anything too sentimental b/c we have a distant relationship but I don't want it to be generic either. I don't know if that makes sense. Any suggestions?

Maybe something that has more of a 'wish you a great future' type of song... Like 'My Wish' by Rascal Flatts or 'I Hope You Dance' by Leann Womack

Do you guys like 80's songs or anything? Or a song from his generation? Maybe you could do a song you both like rather that one that's all mushy. Beach Boys remind me of my dad. LOL

As of right now, I'm not doing a father daughter dance at all. We're not close either and if he wants to dance with me, he can dance with me, without us being the only two on the dancefloor. I went to a wedding and during the father daughter dance I was a DAMN MESS. I was like, 'i can't do this,' lol.

Im in the same boat. My dad isn't walking me down the aisle and I am not dedicating a special song to him - he can slow dance with me at some point if he feels necessary. I agree - I think you should do a faster father daughter dance. How do you feel about it being just the 2 of you with a 'special' song?

does your dad have a favorite band?

I was recently at a wedding where it was pretty much common knowledge that the FOB loved guns and roses... they danced to sweet child of mine.

total fast paced rock song and very non-traditional, but it was a high-light of the night because it was very 'them'
