Ok girls I really need you to help me here! My FH just got promoted yay! but that means we will have to move to PA for a year! So we were talking all day today about maybe moving our wedding date to January 08! What does everyone think about doing this?? and do you think ill get charged by changing my date on all my vendors?? Im scared but excited lol... and my dress will be here surprisingly in the end of JULY!! can't wait its sooo early!! ok now please tell me what you think, and be honest, I really won't mind

well if its something you and FH both want then definitely go for it...i would talk to your vendors first and see if they are even available for whatever date you decide to change it to.

yeah i agree with denise - you should call all your vendors ASAP and see if they are available in January - then see if there is a date that they are ALL available and that could be your date!
if they are not available in january then you will lose your deposits

I think it could be a really good thing for you. I would think they might actually charge you LESS but you really wouldn't know unless you ask. They'll probably be thrilled to fill an opening in Jan since they won't have a problem getting someone in July.
You need to negotiate bigtime since the prices for Jan are SO much lower than July. Make sure you find out what they charge...if you know someone else thats getting married there in the winter find out ASAP!!!

I agree. Before you decide anything I would talk to the RH and vendors to see what you can do and then you can go from there. Congrats to you and FH though.

thanks girls!! and FH says thank you for congradulating him! .. we called the RH and they still do have fridays and saturdays in january, and its sooooo much cheaper omg, we could have 2 honeymoons now
Now I always dreamed of having a summer wedding, but we talked about next july when we are on our honeymoon ((since we already booked)) that we could get re-married in st. lucia, soo i will have the best of both worlds! I really didn't think I would be this happy!!

Someone was teasing me that FH and I should get married 3 times. The first at our wedding (of course), the second in the star trek chapel in Vegas (first leg of HM) then on our HM cruise in May.
january is perfect for the wallet i say go for it its your day

DO IT! How exciting! Everyone will accomodate you. Call the vendors and see what they have avail first.

I would check to make sure all your vendors are available for the new date you want. If they are, they may even charge you less. I changed my date from April to November, and my hall is less.
