Need your opinion on my stamp situation

Ok, so I asked my mom to go to the post office for me today and buy .42 stamps for my rsvp envelopes. I just called her to see if she was able to get them... SHE GOT FLAG STAMPS! I really don't know what she was thinkgin. She tried to go back and exchange them and apparently post offices don't return or exchange stamps bc its against the law...

So my question to you is... do I buy new ones or suck it up and use the flag ones?? I really can't picture my WEDDING INVITATIONS having flag stamps on them!

I would just use the flags!! Nobody is even going to look at the stamp!!

well my stamp is my avatar, so I am going to say, for me the stamp was kind of important.
Maybe because my late father and I collected stamps together.
If he were alive there is not much wedding stuff he would care about, but he would like the stamps.

Honestly, I am so picky that I would go buy different ones... If it was up to me, I would save them for my regular mail and go buy different ones... But then again, you get them back and throw them away so really it's not a big deal but I'm just too picky to have flag stamps... I over paid by $0.16 to have pink heart stamps on the envelope of mine so I shouldn't talk!

i have the flag stamps too. it doesnt matter to me though.

You could always save the forever stamps for the thank yous if you want to get the love stamps That way they will still be put to good use!

I say use the flags for you invites and get the love ones for your returns or vice versa. Don't waste the money. I did that too except I bought .42 and my invites were .59 and then I left 120 stamps at the post office! No one turned them in. I will say that I went to Holbrook post office and asked if I could exchange them and they seemed willing to echange them for me but they didn't have any left. Maybe try there and make sure you get an older gentleman and turn those tears on!!

i'm in the minoriy here, but i think the wedding heart stamps (moreso with the old colors: pink and purple) are way uglier than any of the other options. my mom got them for our e-party invites but I *REALLY* did not want them for our invites. we ended up using $1 stamps on the outside, and liberty bells on our response cards. sure they weren't gorgeous but the colors actually worked well with our ivory envelopes and I was just glad they weren't the hearts.

People dont really notice stamps -- and the outside envelope is what is more impt because that's what makes the first impression.

if this will bug you for a long time, buy new ones and use the other stamps for other things. they will get used eventually. if not, just use them. nobody will care

I used the liberty bell which is still not the greatest for a wedding invitation but I was tired of stressing.....

i wouldnt waste the $$ buying new stamps, because they are just stamps, but I have to say that I have gotten a lot of compliments on the fruit stamps on my rsvp postcard, so people def noticed them.

I would just use the flag stamps....nobody pays attention to this other than maybe another bride.

However, if you really want the love stamps...then get them...the forever stamps last forever

I also say just use them. If you havent gotten the stamps for the outer envelope yet than just make sure you go and pick them out yourself. I think if anyone notices its probably more the outer stamp... think about it, the inner just gets sent back to you anyway. If some people are sentimental and save the WHOLE invite, the stamp on the outside would be more important.
