Ok, so I asked my mom to go to the post office for me today and buy .42 stamps for my rsvp envelopes. I just called her to see if she was able to get them... SHE GOT FLAG STAMPS! I really don't know what she was thinkgin. She tried to go back and exchange them and apparently post offices don't return or exchange stamps bc its against the law...
So my question to you is... do I buy new ones or suck it up and use the flag ones?? I really can't picture my WEDDING INVITATIONS having flag stamps on them!

Re: Need your opinion on my stamp situation
If this happened to me I would just use the flag stamps. In 10 years you are not going to be thinking 'well, I should have used the love stamps on my rsvp cards instead....' You are probably already spending so much $ on the wedding, there's no point in spending more when you don't have to!! Just make sure you have pretty ones to go on the actual invitations.

They're just RSVP envelopes.
Flag stamps are PERFECT. A bunch of us had Liberty Bell stamps b/c of the postage increase. It's OK to have flag stamps.
I had flowers and goat stamps on my actual wedding invites. No big deal.

I'm using the forever stamps on my rsvp envelopes. Believe me no one will notice or care.

Re: Need your opinion on my stamp situation
It's a stamp on an envelope and more specifically a RSVP envelope that no one (except a bride) will notice. My rsvp stamps are liberty bell stamps too b/c I paid .41 and got to use them now.
No one will even look at the stamp. Don't worry about it.

Re: Need your opinion on my stamp situation
I ordered 1.34 stamps from zazzle that were beautiful BUT i forgot to add the directional card to my invite and this pushed the postage up another 17 cents AND the only stamp available was an UGLY ram. i was pissed for a second, but then i got over it. in the grand scheme of things, its not worth getting upset over.

If you really hate them buy the ones you like and save those for your shower / wedding thank yous. Its not terrible to use the stamps you have tho.

nobody is going to notice but I agree if it bothers you just buy new stamps. You will always use the stamps for other things; we all have tons of bills after these weddings.

Re: Need your opinion on my stamp situation
I would use the flags...if it is REALLLLLY bothering you, by new ones and use them for everyday mail. Don't pay bills online for a while
If it makes you feel any better, my dad (he's so sweet) decided to surprise me and by 350 stamps. He didn't realize 7x7 pocketfolds are more expensive so now I will have 2 clashing stamps on my invites AND RSVP's bc he bought them when stamps were .41!

Re: Need your opinion on my stamp situation
I used the liberty bells because I sent my invites out right around the postage hike. I wouldn't worry. No one is really going to notice and I haven't gotten half of mine back anyway-people lost them. I spent a little more money on my outer stamps-the ones that really mattered to me.

Personally I'd be bummed too, but I'd just use them because as the girls said they are just RSVP stamps I feel your pain though.

Re: Need your opinion on my stamp situation
My invites went out right around the time of the change in postage, so before any of the new wedding stamps were issued. Just about the only nice stamp besides liberty bell said Minnesota on it. I didn't want to do that. I used Liberty Bell on my RSVP envelopes and Liberty Bell + hideous goat stamp on my invite. Honestly, nobody commented, no one will remember, and I don't even think I'll remember. I've gotten two wedding invitations in the last month and I couldn't tell you what stamps were on them. HTH!
