I just got back from the hospital where my DH was rushed to last night. He passed out and slammed his jaw and head on the corner of the wall as he fell. Luckily, we found out this morning, he didn't break his jaw or any other bones in his face from the fall.
He's in quite a bit of pain and the doctors have no idea why he just passed out. It scares me. I keep seeing him fall face first into the wall in my mind. It's something that will live in my mind forever. I thought he was gone.
Please pray that he gets better, and whatever made him pass out was a one time deal.

He's still quite dizzy and is trying to chew some food now, but it's painful. My poor guy.

OMG! I'm sorry that happened! Is he going to his regular doctor this week? I hope he feels better soon! Thank God nothing's broken! Did he feel anything before he passed out?

Make sure he gets to his regular MD fast so he can be sent to a neurologist to run tests. In all likelihood it's nothing more than stress, but it can't hurt to have him completely checked out!

He is feeling much better today and is able to drive! The areas of his face and head that hit the wall and floor still hurt, obviously. Thank you for your support and prayers.
I also appreciate those of you that sent FM with personal experiences. It's always nice to know you're not alone!

OMG>...I must have missed this thread. How truly awful. I've done this once...I hit my head on the corner of a metal TV set..OUCH. I was out for 15 minutes...no one but me knew...and I only really knew because of where I landed and the cut on my face. It's very scary....I still get lightheaded and brace myself for another fall...and worry it will happen again. It hasn't happened again....and I pray it doesn't happen to your FH again either. Good to know he didn't break anything....but very very scary for you to have watched I'm sure!!

After the parade, he had to stand in the sun holding a flag for over 1/2 an hour. Thankfully, he came to pretty quickly. The EMTs checked him out before he was allowed to leave.

Sorry to hear about that. My DH ate and drank within an hour of passing out, so that wasn't it. We'll just chalk it up to a medical mystery.
