So, I have a month left of summer vacation, just got a weekend job to start in sept, plus teaching full time and wedding planning. Its gunna be one hell of a hectic year with no time to do anything. Im trying to get as much done now as possible since Im home. Any suggestions to wedding things I can get out of the way in advance?? Thanks <3 Joanne

Little things...
Book all of your vendors - especially hair and makeup people. Jewlery and shoes. Invitations if you haven't looked already. Those ended up being the biggest headache for me. Finalize your guest list (as much as you can this far out). Figure out if you're going to do things like OOT gift bags, bathroom baskets and buy the stuff that doesn't go bad... gift bags, baskets etc. Make lists of what you want to put in them. Put together program wording... favor tags. Start putting together do not play lists for your dj and start thinking about ceremony music. That took a week or two to figure out for us... Bridal party/parent gifts...
I'm just thinking of all of the little time consuming things that I'm doing right now... and with the end of the school year being so close to your wedding you're going to want to get as much of it out of the way before hand as possible.

Stuff like church music we just did and we are getting married in like a month. You will find time to do things. I was working 2 jobs and going to school full-time during most of our engagement and things got done. You make time for it.

-you could also probably get the cardbox out of the way -bridal party gifts although i since i bought mine so far in advance i ended up changing most of the gifts and like everyone else said pick out most music...pick out vendors have makeup and hair trials.

yea i know i had 2 jobs and did my masters and took care of my 2 grandparents this whole past yr, but now im starting a new job and I know its going to be hectic plus teaching and might be going back to school again, planning my shower and wedding, i just fig maybe I could get ideas from other brides if there was something I didnt think of and can get out of the way now instead of later =)
Ive kept myself busy all summer, remodeling my house, painting indoors and outdoors..my parents live over seas so i dont have much help from anyone, so its much more than just wedding stuff that I will have to prepare for =/

Any of the little details-slipper baskets, looking for invitations, cocktail napkins, etc.
Book all of your major vendors. Start looking for BM dresses, MOB and MOG dress.

I suggest getting some sort of system - I 'borrowed' an expandable folder and some vanilla folders and labeled everything - Reception, Church, Bridal Gowns, DJ, Florist, Limo, Accessories, Etc etc.
FH and my Dad made fun of me, but HA! Because when we need to find the original contract to the reception hall to see what was offered to us, who needed to find it???

DEF agree with the bridal party gifts. I started early and now with a month left I'm SO glad I did so that I didn't have to worry about not having money and having to get them all gifts!
