Negotiate Bridesmaids dress prices?

Has anyone negotiated bridesmaids dress prices from a local store? My bridsmaids tried dresses on at Bridal Suite in Bayshore. The associate there was great and I would love to give her business but the dresses are about $40 cheaper online. Has anyone successfully gotten a store to lower their price based on online prices?

Online prices are lower because they're probably coming directly from the manufacturer and there might not be a middle man, whereas the store has to purchase the dresses than mark-up to cover the costs and make a profit.

Why not just order them online? Is the $40 a deal breaker for your bridesmaids? Maybe find a similar, but cheaper dress?

My FH's sister is getting married this upcoming May, and I'm in her bridal party. She lives in CA, and between her 4 bridesmaids, we cover 3 states. She decided we should all order together from the same website, due to the cheaper cost and also because she is worried if they don't come from the same batch, the dye will look different.

The price of the dress was less, but I had to find an independent seamstress to measure me, because no salons will measure unless you put down a deposit (because otherwise there's nothing in it for them), and then I will have to find a salon/seamstress to do alterations.

After figuring all the extra cost into it, it's actually less expensive to order from the salon if it's possible.

We are ordering from bridesmaids.com for the same reasons. Our dresses by Dessy are 1/2 online as in the store!
I hadn't thought about the girls getting measured, so I think I will mention to them about finding a tailor now so they are prepared. I think most of them have access to a good tailor.

I priced out my dresses with a couple different salons. I never tried online, however; the salon where I got my dress did beat the pricing from the cheapest place I went. It cant hurt to ask..

I got all of our dresses at bridal suite in bayshore... the wedding center had them cheaper so i have bridal suite of bayshore the prices from wedding center and they tried to match them for me.. most of them came within $5

I haven't ordered my dresses yet, but my consultant told me they WILL price match if I found it cheaper (which I did). It doesn't seem to be something they advertise (my consultant has just been really great to me), but if they do it, maybe other salons do too. It's worth a try.

Yes I did!! I got them at Bridal Elegance. The only thing was they had to pay their dresses in full but they got a great discount. Check them out!!

I would stick with the store just in case there is an issue it's would be a lot easier to deal with and most of the alterations could be included....also let ur sale lady know maybe u can work out a deal so she could get the sale and I'll get peace of mind..at least for that detail

I would bring in the competitors price and see what they say. It doesnt hurt to ask. I got my BM dresses at Renates in Lindenhurst and the price goes down for every dress ordered.

I did this too however I DID get a better quote at Bridal Elegance in Huntington. I have 7 bridesmaids and so they gave me a discount. It was $70 cheaper per dress. I couldnt pass it up.
