Ok so ASIDE from the DATE OF THE WEDDING drama, FH wants me to negotiate with the RH for price. I'm really bad with that, but due to the amount of people we have attending, it's a HUGE expense.. What do I say, what do I ask for? How do I convince?? LOL HELP!!

Well if you havent booked the hall you can say that you absolutely love this hall and it would be a dream to have your wedding reception there, but it is a little out of our price range. We were hoping to spend $$ on the reception. Usually they will try to work with you. I just said that this is our budget and we would really like to stick to it. Is there anything you can do to help us stick to that budget? My BM went down in price a bit and threw in a few freebies like a chocolate fountain during vienesse hour, cut the price of the raw bar, threw some other free things, too. Most halls are very accommodating.

Assuming you haven't made any communications with the RH you could always pretend to be interested in a more expensive date. If you ask for a range of dates and try including ones that are more desirable and asking them what they can do to reduce those dates, you will probably find them reducing the date you really want. Not sure if I'm explaining it clearly.

Geeze I'm so bad at this. Well our tasting is tomorrow.. We will be meeting with him friday to discuss the $$.. I just feel so.. Ughh about trying to bring the price down.. I HATE BEING POOR!!

Dont feel bad. Just remember the wedding industry is a huge rip off and theyre probably over charging as is. Keep that in the back of your head!

we couldnt get ours down at all. My dad who does it for a living tried everything! he really thought it would work by saying that it was between you and so and so and the other places keep calling me and comin down on their price. My place wouldnt budge. said it was far in advance so even if we didnt take it they would prolly find another bride to take the spot. We did thou get them to throw in some extras so it would at least be more worth it..hehe oh well.
