Neighbors - How do you keep them on their side of the fence?

Wondering how everyone would handle neighbors who clearly are overstepping boundaries ...

Geez, how presumptuous can people be!?

Well, my dad grew the hedges really high in the back yard for that very reason.

I think you need to be blunt, in respone to particular offenses.

And don't be too friendly, they will read too much into it.

Oh, you must live on my block!

I basically told off one neighbor last Thursday because she walked into my house unnanounced the day before. I was so stunned (and preoccupied) at the time, I didn't have the chance to tell her off when she did it. This is the second time she casually walked right in my door. Her retort? 'Well, if you didn't want people walking into your house, you shouldn't have left the door open'

This woman is a complete psycho. She's 60+ and is 'jealous' when we have people over and don't invite her (why would you assume you would be??). She stalks our house, knows our comings and goings (and often comments about them to us and other neighbors) and wears T-Shirts with no undies to put out the garbage all the time, bending over in the direction of our house so we get a good view. Believe me, there's not enough day laborers available to trim that hedge! Now I KNOW why the former owners had 50 ft hedges SURROUNDING the place, that was the only way they would get some peace!

I'm sorry but..

I wish I knew, my neighbors kids were all over my lawn about 1 month ago playing football , and when Dh told them nicely to get off of our lawn they got mad!!! hello, that is why we have a fence!

My neighbor used the hose on me and my friends when our ball would bounce onto her driveway

I dont mind the kids so much as long as they arent actually playing on the lawn. Otherwise, Sprinklers are great!

well, that's one way!

Thank goodness my nieghbors aren't in our business....but my poor sister has the 'crazy lady nextdoor'

she knocks on my sister's door early in the morning to give her a recap on the neighborhood garbage pick up.

The woman has so many cats that other neighbors have called the board of health on her...they took most of her cats away...and gave her back 14 of them...the cats constantly chew at her phone and electrical wires...so the crazy lady is always asking my sister to call the phone Co. and LIPA for her.

when she comes over to my sister's house flys are literally swamming around her...my sister wont let her in the house...but the flys hang around my sister's porch...she has to go out there with bug killer after the lady leaves.

my poor sister has called me to tell me that hte crazy lady is downstairs knocking on her door...but she is hiding out in her bedroom upstairs and away from the windows.
