NERVE!

I was told if I want in house flowers I have to use one of 2 florists.......

Is your caterer providing the centerpieces for the table? Mine did and I had to follow the same guideline. Any good florist will have a big selection of wedding flowers and bouquets. It's where they make most of their money.

We also have to use one of 5 house florists. When we were told that I thought that my Fh was gonna blow, but it was where we wanted to have our wedding so what can you do. It's still pretty bold of them to tell you who you can use.

I turned a place down because of this practice. I think it's very nervy to give only 2 choices for a florist, and you have to take one of them no matter what they charge, or what their work is like.

I told them

Well now I won't DEF use real flowers for centerpieces and maybe I will have pointsettas ( which they don't include)

I said Don't Ever tell me what to use or WHOM to use...............

You are sooo right about that!! What kind of underhanded business practice is this?? I've never heard of such a thing. I know most places have 'preferred vendors' but to force you to use someone is ridiculous!!

I won't even call them.

Flowers on the exchange will do whatever church decorations and my flowers and corsages..

The other places can stick it........

I want the church to look like when Jessica Simpson got married.....

Glen Island Harbor Club does this, and I basically told them to go scratch. Two flortists, the one that is good is outrageously expensive, the other ****s and it's not much cheaper!

That place worked my last nerve when we went to go see them.

T: Pedestals has 2 locations. one in howard beach and the other in LI. Pedastals has a deal with russo's thats why they told you that you have to use them or someone else. Russo's makes a commission off sending you to someone. Pedestals will charge you an arm and a leg because russo's gets a cut of it. its all business.

ask russo's what will happen if you dont use there florist

Oh jeez, two expensive alternatives.

Ok, do you have a copy of your contract? Look at where is says florists....it may say 'house florist / other with insurance'. If it says that and other with insurance isn't crossed out, you may be in the clear, and you can tell them to bite it.

I said afraid I am not using FLOWERS unless they are poitsettas (in contract) they aren't recgonized as flowers!!!

Did you sign a contract already? Was this on there? And make sure you ask him if you can use another with insurance, and word it that way....see what he says.
