NERVE!

Re: NERVE!

in my case I was told that we had to use one of their florists because of the location( NYBG ) and not wanting to do harm to the premises. I could kinda see their point and there were 5 from which to choose. In your case I think it's ridiculous. 2 Choices is nothing. I would have a long talk with Russo's and read the fine print in your contract.

I was told that as long as the florist has insurance then you can use your own florist, they try to get away with that all the time.

I would definitely try to get around in this T... What about doing candles and some funky poinsetta arrangement. I can't believe they only gave you 2 options!!!!! F THEM!!!! I would definitely tell them that I will pull my wedding from there and go somewhere else. I think they may make an exception after hearing that because that's a lot of $$$ to lose - for such a thing as flowers.
Good luck babe!

I love that one..you can only use these 2 florists..NOT!! What they should say is...gee we are going to rip you off and get a kick back from my buddy the florist, so just bend over and take it!!

I would buy poinsettas from Home Depo right before the wedding and use them with candles purchased from Michaels. It will save you a ton of money and look fabulous at a wedding that is one week before Christmas. Then you don't have to spend a ton of money on a florist you didn't choose. I would also bring the candles and poinsettas to your BM and make him/her take care of it, so that they can be sure their precious room is not harmed in any way.

By the way, what hall are we talking about? I can't remember.

Re: NERVE!

I would play dumb. I don't think they're going to ask you which florist you're using and if for some reason they do, just say the name of the florist and see their reaction. Say 'I never heard of having to use a specific florist before', 'my cousin got married here and used this florist too, and you said nothing', bluh, bluh bluh. I can't see on the day of your wedding Russo's turning them away - - it makes them look bad too. It's ridiculous. Honestly, I booked my florist and then relized that my hall had that clause too. I just happened to luck out, but I was contracted already, like it or not, unless they wanted to pay the contract off, I was using them in-house or no in-house.

Re: NERVE!

It's really not possible for her to do that, because they may not accept the insurance papers from the florist if they aren't contracted to work there. They can very easily not let them in the building..

This ****s!
