Nervous...

My shower is next Sunday and I am kinda concerned that my guests will be bored when I open up my gifts...everyone thinks Im crazy lol...how long did it take you to open up the gifts? and did you do anything special to speed things up?

Dont be nervous.... people always chit-chat during the opening of presents so that keeps them busy. If you want, have them play Bridal shower Bingo.... that is always a good time!

The majoity of the shower was opening gifts. My Bms did have some games for everyone to play. They did a 'How Well do you know B &G' everyone filled n their answers, then at one point I had to give the right answers, the winner got to take home a CP. Then their also was 'Bridal Bingo', or shower bingo- as you open the presents everyone marks off on their card what you got (blender, spatula, etc) and someone eventually gets bingo.

Thats right...My BMs are having bridal bingo ... totally forgot about that...thanks ladies!!

well your invites are already out...but someone once told me that on the invites they wrote 'wrap in clear paper' this way the brides just held up the box and didnt waste time opening..lol


dont feel bad about boring people...how many showers have you had to sit and watch? Its fun and people chat and eat dont stress

My shower was last week and i was concerned w/ the same thing.....so i opened everything really really fast, and once it was done i looked through everything..my fmil was amazed how fast i did it.Good luck and enjoy!!!

Dont be nervous! It took me about 2 hours to open gifts!! I'm sure certian people were bored but mostly people talked and stuff until I got to there gifts! I had a few of my BM's bringing me the gifts and my FG's helping collect the garbage paper... It was fun and everything went smooth... In the begining everyone watched and clapped, but then people started talking and getting bored and then I really started to hurry up! Believe it or not, I got sick of opening!! You'll be fine though, don't be nervous and try to have fun!!

They sped me through the gift opening process and I felt terrible. One of my bm's mothers hand knitted my garter and she spent so much time on it, it didn't get the proper praise it deserved, along with a slew of other beautiful gifts. It was hectic, people that are there are interested in what you received and who purchased it for you. So don't be scared and don't try to speed through the process!

it took half of my shower to open gifts (easily 2 hours)..Most people talk to each other and are not too bored..especially when you open the lingerie! lol

I remember opening gifts at mine and it just felt very awkward- everyone was totally silent!! They were like perfect little students! (I'm a teacher )

We called all the gifts that were in baskets where you can see everything 'peek-a-boo' gifts you don't need to open all of them because you can see them. Also, I suggest when you are opening them have someone write on the back of the cards what the gift was. So much easier than on a piece of paper. And it won't get lost.
