Your being foolish....males tend to be a little sweeter in dogs. They aren't the dominate sex usually...females are usually the alpha dog. My little man has NEVER humped anyone's leg.

I agree. Males tend to be sweeter then females. As long you neuter him, you shouldn't have any problems with humping, dominance, etc.

i dont know. i have a male and will NEVER get another male again EVER.
eta: he was SOOOO hard to housetrain. he marks things. (now hes fixed he hasnt done it yet) hes overly protective. he barks at everythign , everyone, and every dog. he's not friendly at all either. i mean WE love him to death cuz he's ours, and hes fine with us. but i will never get a male dog again in my life.

I have a male, and he isn't even neutered He is the sweetest most lovable dog and he never humped in 12 years. When he was 12 my SIL got a little boy puppy and Gizmo tried to hump him

I do have a male and he is a total mush bUTTTTT he pees everywhere even though he is neutered I think he is territorial or something becuase he just cant seem to get over the peeing indoors and on everytree outdoors either. I will def get a female the next time around even though I love him.

Bama is 9 months and isn't neutered and he's the sweetest dog! He doesn't hump anyone and isn't aggressive. He humps dogs at the dog park occasionally but it's not out of hand.

Golem is a male and is the sweetest little pup in the world!!! He lives for giving kisses and meeting new people - he absolutely loves everyone/every dog he meets! It's all in the temperment and how the dog is trained, so you shuoldn't have anything to worry about. Don't be afraid to get a male dog - they are just as wonderful as a female dog!!

I have a male. The only difference to me is that females look a little bit nicer 'down there.' My male dachshund is great, except that he is so low down that when there was snow, his poor PP would drag through the snow (leaving a line in addition to his footprints, and my friends have asked if that causes shrinkage)!!!

my grandparents were the same way but got a male shepherd who was protective but such a love. gentle and beautiful. when he died they got another male who is like a baby...he is a mush, a doll. i love him. any dog, male or female, terrier or big dog, they all have their own personalities and the owner brings it out, imo. i've seen killer terriers and chicken dobermans. i've seen gentle terriers and aggessive big dogs. they'ree like kids. i've seen nice boys and mean boys. don't be nervous b/c you'll have a new love soon!

My male terrier mix has been the best dog ever! He was super easy to housetrain and is extremely loveable. Only had one issue with him peeing on our couch when we were leaving for a vacation... he was p!ssed that he wasn't going with us.
