nervous about my hall (little long)

hey girls.....
i need opinions.....

ok, so my fh & i liked leonards of great neck, but now im a little nervous about the food.

i have heard all good things, but now the negative comments are coming out....

i know every hall has its faults and everyone has different opinions and different taste so of course there are gonna be people that dont always have nice things to say about your hall.....

the food is very important to me......not so much the dinner (some may disagree w/me) but i think the cocktail hour is the most important.

that is where everyone does majority of the eating!!!!!

we both have large italian families that love to eat......so i def want the ch to be good.

the dinner is important to, but honestly...a lot ppl like the ch more so im not so worried about the dinner.

ive heard that the food is not hot enough, and the dinners came out late....i've heard this about 2-3 times already!!!

but on the other hand.....i have heard great things and ppl loved the food
do i mention this to my bm??? to ensure my food will be hot & good???

I was a BM in a wedding at Leonards in june 2005 I have to say the food was great they brought food into us in the suite during the CH, the bridal attendant was more than accomodating she kept the drinks coming and as far as dinner the food was good everyone on my table ate their dinner.

i would go to the RH and TELL them i heard this- so they ensure youre happy with the food. The whole 'not hot enough' complaint is bull- thats something easy to fix..

My bro got married there [yea it was 1988!] BUT to this day it was still THE BEST wedding we've ever been to! Food, service EVERYTHING... but yea, it was 1988 LOL! I was 7 years old!

Im sure everythng will be great- go in for your trial dinner so youre a little less stressed maybe????

One of the weddings I was in the BP they brought the cocktail food to the suite and it was delicious. The dinners were excellent as well they came right out and yes of course they were hot.

I wouldn't listen there are always going to be positives and negatives when you book a hall

we are suppose to go to the hall for food tasting this wkend, but i dont know if we are going.
but also, the food sat could be good now, but in a yr from now it could change!!!

also someone said on another board that they only give you cocktail hr food to try not dinners?????

?!?!? No way, they MUST let u sample each dinner.... and if they dont- demand it!!! Thats just NUTS! my place lets us sample ALL our dinner selections and if we dont like one, or a sauce on one, or any little thing, they change it and have us try it again...

my FH's cousin is having her reception there next summer, and she hasn't heard anything bad about the place. Whoever told you bad things could have been there on an off night. Maybe there were too many weddings going on at one time, it could be a bunch of things. The best thing to do would be to relax and don't think bad thoughts. I'm sure it will be perfect, and everyone will LOVE the food.

i have been there for wedding & we really liked the food alot also going there next week for a wedding- i'll let u know how we like the food- i would also talk to the BM there & let him/her know about your concern

I fell bad sometimes when I hear something about my hall but then I think back to all of the reasons why I chose it and any negative feedback gets pushed right out of my mind. I have been to certain halls many many many times and even THE BEST ONES can have something a little off on certain days. But you have to make the best of it. I can tell you that I have been to Leondards for Weddings, Sweet 16's, Anniversary parties, even for new years eve and I had a great time each time. If there is something specific that it bothering you say the temperature of the food constantly bring it up to your BM. Tell them how important it is to have the food hot at all times. Stress it everytime you call them or go there and I bet it all of the food will be hot enough!!!

I know exactly how you feel. My family and my in-law's are the same way with the food (both very Italian) Leonard's has been around for a long time and have a good reputation. Just go and talk to them and have them explain everything to you.

My family is the same way when it comes to food. Thankfully they are also a bunch of lushes and party animals so the open premium bar was the biggest concern.

I would mention it to the hall that you heard this from the forums (they all know we are on this forum). Let them know that you are concerned and hope that your reception dinner will be served promtly and most importantly HOT!

You are a bride and I am sure they have heard it all before from other brides. You letting them know that this was a concern from other brides and that they can be receiving negative press from it may make them get their a$$ in gear on the day of your wedding.
