NERVOUS BREAKDOWN ON THE HORIZON!!! Update

Ok so, I had one BM drop out last month when I called her about ordering her dress, now I have another one saying 'well I can't afford it til July'. Hello, my wedding is in September!!! I just called David's Bridal and BM dresses are taking 8-15 weeks to come in depending on dress and color... yeah that's enough to freak me out. I still have 2 BM's without dresses. I keep getting the I don't have the money for the dress OMG I asked them LAST October!!! I went to David's Bridal so the resses were reasonably priced. I let them pick the dress they wanted and could afford all I choose was the colors of the dress (Victorian lilac) and shoes (Silver Metallic). The upside of this is my MOH and Jr. BM has ordered theirs already but now hmmmm no BM's have... I am going to have a nervous breakdown.... I am sooo ready to just say F*** IT and cancel the whole damn thing!

UPDATE - Well my BM got here yesterday (she lives in PA) I drove half way and met her and her husband and brought her back here.... We went to David's bridal today and found a dress in the right color and size she looked great in RIGHT OFF THE RACK!!! To top it off it was $99. Then we went to Burlington Coat Factory (4 stores later) and found the perfect metallic silver sandals to go with it for get this $14.99.. All I have to say is YAY!!!! I now have a BM. I did end up buying her the dress and shoes and she is going to pay me back this summer.

Now one more BM to go and that one is a toughy it is my daughter and she hates ALL David's Bridal dresses and is being a pain about picking one... I just hate teenagers.....

Don't worry everything will work out. I totally understnad wha tyour going through. I asked my BM in April of 2006 and they all still said I don't have the money. Hello its been 2 years!! You know your going to be in a wedding....wouldn't you put some money aside for it!! People just annoy me!

Don't stress out. People's financial situations change. I just had a BM back out because her financial situation changed. Is there any way you can lay out the money for them or see if someone can lend them the money?

That is so true, I would save if it was vice versa!
It must be so frustrating! At least your MOH has hers, if it comes down to it, kick everyone else out!

if u really want her in your wedding, then unfortunately u have to buy her dress. make an arrangement with her, tell her you will pay half, and she can pay the other, or tell her you will buy the dress, & she can pay u back when she has the $$.

I ordered dresses from David's on 3 occasions and they were in within 2-3 weeks. I don't know if you want to take the chance but I thought I would let you know of my experience.

I actually am going to do just that I have known her since we were five and I told her I will take her to go order her dress and pay for it and she is going to pay me back when she has the money even if it is $10 at a time. I really don't have the money with the wedding and all but I can't imagine her not being in my wedding.

i dunno how much they are or what u were thinking of spending on a gift...but its a thought.

i ordered my dresses from davide my last BM ordered her this week and they will be in the latest the end of june, but the girl told her to make an alteration appt now for mid july. i understand how expensive it is to be in a wedding, but you were very reasonable to get them at davids, i think the mosit expensive dress my girls picked was 140, and through my experience that is a great deal! i have always paid over 200! but listen don't let is stress you! tell them they have to ge the dress by mid june or they will not be able to get it intime! I hope everything works out for you!!!

i'm sorry your having this problem but everything will work out! its not worth getting stressed just try to enjoy this time!

Sorry to crash here, but I had a similar experiance with this poster,.

David's bridal told me it would take almost 3 months and I swear 3 weeks later they were calling me to tell me to make arrangements to get them picked up.

Sorry that you are having so many issues with your BP, I was just hoping that sharing this could help you out alittle....

Give them a deadline.....they need to order the dressed by this specific date. Throw it out there, offer to go with them and make it a fun event. And then, don't worry about another BM dress related thing until that time. Don't even think about it until the day after. Once the deadline passes check back with everyone. Anyone who hasn't gotten their dresses will need to tell you if they want to be part of your wedding. None of your limits need to be given in an upset or threatening manner either....it is what it is. Let them be responsible for the outcome of this, not you.

WOW you guys just made me feel ALOT better!!! I know the salesperson i talked to was like 'well... it usually takes 15 weeks...' Then I talked to another girl this afternoon and she checked on the dress that this BM wants and was like 'oh probably 8 weeks...' I was like ok this is when I NEED them by (No later then 9/1) we will place the orders this weekend, can it be done? Mind at this point I am speaking with the manager and she is like well I don't know.... I can't say... can you order them today? I was like no the soonest we can get there is Sunday, the manager actually told me that Sunday may be to late.... I have one BM that lives in the sticks of PA (no David's Bridal near her) so she is coming to my house tomorrow (4 hour drive) then we are going to go to the David's near me and order it. I am thinking of calling the next nearest David's Bridal and talking to them and maybe using them for our orders. Because Sincerely I have had nothing but grief from this David's Bridal and it all started when I told them my gown wasn't from them but I intended to do all the BM's and accessories from there. They had attitude about the gown not being from there (In all fairness I did try one 8 wedding gowns there they just weren't me).

Sorry to here about your PIA BM's. Don't stress! FYI...David's bridal say ^-* weeks but they come in super fast. We got my flower girl's dress from them and they had said 6 wks and it came in less than 2 weeks.

Don't worry...everything will work out!
