FH just called - he is standing outside his building downtown - there was some sort of a bomb threat or something going on - he said they made an announcement over the loudspeaker and said that if you want you can leave but you don't have to evacuate....i told him to get the hell out of there....he said everyone is a few blocks down waiting around - the police are supposed to come check it out or something.....ugh - im nervous....he really has no idea whats going on b/c everyone is confused and when they made the announcement he was on the phone with a client.....does anyone know anyone else who works at 101 barclay?

OMG my friend works there too...she e-mailed me when they made the announcement but I haven't heard from her since so I'm sure she left the building too. Please post any updates you may have.

I haven't heard anything... My manager is down there at a few appts... I'll keep you posted if I do. We're in midtown though and have bomb scares often. As long as he is out of the building- that's good....

A$$holes phone in bomb scares to places all the time for shiits and giggles...even though it's the furthest thing from funny. He'll be ok....it's raining here so he'll be a little wet, but it'll be fine I'm sure.

I have no idea what is happening in this world.. bomb threats, gunmen running around colleges.. just makes everything so scary.. once you leave that door.. you never know what's coming your way... be safe everyone..

FH just told me that the rumour is someone called very calmy and said that they were going to bomb the building and kill every mother f'er at 101 barclay at 3 pm
i might throw up
ETS: its probably some a-hole, but still, the thought makes me want to vomit...why would someone do that? pranks like that arent funny - i dont get it....and it makes me nervous b/c i know a lot of ppl got fired at FH's job - and they always say someone is going to go nuts one day

I'm sure it's nthing but a scare, but now they've learned to evacuate people immediately which is good. He'll be fine. Since it's almost the end of the day his boss might just tell him to leave.

Sounds like a disgruntled B of NY worker. (that's the B of NY building if I'm thinking of the right one). It will all be ok I'm sure. Think positive. I know, easier said than done, but as long as he's outside he'll be fine. Tell him to go to Century 21 while he's waiting and buy you something nice.
