Nervous this week

Nervous this week

FH and I were talking last night and we have nothing--- i mean absolutely nothing done for the wedding- we have been working on changes to the contract with the reception hall for like a week- and i guess until that's done cant do much.. so its making me nervous-- i dont know how some brides plan so quick! anyone else stressing about this?

once you book your RH you can move on to other areas. Don;t worry you have plenty of time What else have you guys accomplished? Have you set your budget? Guestlist? Compiled list of vendors to contact?

don't worry you have time to get everything done...Honestly up until february i only had RH and photographer booked, i ended up doing everything in a few short weeks, one week saw the dj, next week saw limos and florist, it can get done quickly, don't stress

also some girls have been engaged for longer so girls should remember that, they come on and see what other girls have done but the other girls might be engaged for longer thats it...ive been engaged 11 months almost a year, and i started getting mostly everything done a few months ago

Don't worry or stress over it too much. You have plenty of time to get everything done. Try to relax and take one step at a time. Just deal with the RH right now and get that done with and then after that you can work on the vendors and everything. Don't worry. Everything will fall into place.

you have PLENTY of time. So don't worry about anything.
I know a lot of brides who get all the planning done in less than 6 months and get everything they want. And yes, i mean long island brides.

I was totally freaking out when i was a year out, i thought i'd never get anything done.
However, once you get the hall all set up and finalized you'll be able to relax and you'll be super surprised how quickly other things fall into place.
the same week i freaked out about having nothing i finalized my church, booked a band, and booked photo/video

don't worry. you're on track.

Once you get into the groove it will make sense.

No reason to be stressed. Its funny, if you tell people who dont live on Long Island about your concern, they'll probably laugh hysterically at you for being worried this far in advance, lol. For some reason, Long Island weddings are a breed of their own, and I think people tend to stress out a lot more than they need to. When I'm in Albany or in other states visiting friends and looking at bridesmaid dresses, the bridal salons think I'm absolutely nuts to look this early... and they're the professionals! Sometimes, I need to stop and readjust my focus and put things back in perspective (more than a year away!), and that def. helps w/feeling less stressed.

Dont worry. You still have plent of time. Once everything is done with the contract and RH things happen so fast. What you can do in the mean time is call around and talk to vendors to get an idea of what they cost and you can cancel out ones that are too high or ones you're not interested in. That way when you are ready to look at those vendors, its not as overwhelming and you can get things done quicker.

thanks- feel a little better- i think i am also stressed because we are going on a 3 week vacation to italy at the end of july and i feel like thats all lost time since all my little wedding planners will be with me (its a family reunion).

So jealous! Have a great vacation with no stressing. Whats the point of a vacation if its just going to stress you out!. Hopefully by then, you'll have the contract done and like i said in a previous post, start researching vendors you are interested in.

Don't worry. All I had done for about 4 months was the RH, then I started with photo and all that. I still don't have an officiant or flowers. You have more than a year so you are more than fine. Once you get everything settled with the RH, you will be on a roll.
