Netbride.com
Hi Ladies,I definitely would LOVE feedback on this. Yestrday I posted a pic of the dress I want my girls to wear. I got quoted $240 at Bridal reflection, $200 at the Wedding Center in Commack, and $165!!!! on netbride.com (thanks to MarcellaBella). I just think it's too good to be true. Has ANYONE used them and if so are they the original designer gowns or copies. How come they are so cheap??? THANKS!!!!

Re: Netbride.com
they're cheaper cause they don't have salesperson and storefront overhead. We bought our BM dresses online (not netbride.com) and everything was perfect. All the dresses came in the right size, right color and were the original designer gowns - not copies.

Thanks Lisa. I guess no one else has purchased on line. I am a bit skeptical but might go for it. Thanks!!!!!!

Re: Netbride.com
HEHE!! Aren't they wonderful!! Basically they are cheap because you're cutting out the middle man (salon)Curly, I was reading on RK Bridal that if the same dress is cheaper anywhere else (ie netbride) they will match the price AND knock off 5%!! alterations will cost 50 bucks too... I am going to call them up and confirm for sure.. I'll let you know!

Re: Netbride.com
You might also want to check with the designer. For example, I know that netbride has Jim Hejlm gowns, but Jim Hejlm claims that they don't allow the sale of their gown online.

Re: Netbride.com
on the Panoply Design website (the designer of the dress you like) they specifically have a note telling you NOT to to order your dresses online. For some reason the note is not coming up on this post, but go to www.panoplydesign.com to read it. It certainly deterred me from buying online. But, of course, some websites will be fine.

Re: Netbride.com
there are scams out there for sure, but there are also valid online businesses. There are reasons why a designer would not want you to buy online - it lowers the prestige of their label if you can get it anywhere AND they want to maintain the relationships with the salons. And that letter's not entirely accurate: you may incur minimal shipping charges, but either way you're paying for alterations. And some places are out of state so you also save on tax.
I did not buy my wedding dress online (for that kind of money, I wanted to security of the salon), but we ordered all the BMs dresses and it saved us hundreds. I was thrilled to be able to lower the cost of being in my bridal party. The Dessy & Aftersix dresses ranged from $150-225 retail and we got them for $95-150.
I'm not promoting the idea - just saying it worked out awesome for us! (and we spoke with real people on the phone)

Re: Netbride.com
They explained how it works in the book Bridal Bargains(the book is at home otherwise I would type it here). I would trust that it is a real dress. The designers don't want people to buy from websites because their preferred shops lose money then.

Re: Netbride.com
I bought my Jim Hjelm dresses from NetbrideJust received the dresses3 weeks ago, they came in a month earlier than projected, all tags on and in PERFECT condition for $100 less than my quote at Bridal Reflections.
They ARE authorized to sell Jim Hjelm, they are just not allowed to give online quotes on that particular designer. Someone from netbride called me with the quote.
Also, even though they are an online retailer, they HAVE a freestanding bridal shop in whatever state they happen to be located in (I forget which state)
I would definately recommend them.
I know quite a few girls from here and from a few other wedding boards that have used them and have heard nothing but rave reviews.

Re: Netbride.com
The more I read the more I lean towrds it. My MOH wants to pay full price b/c she said she doesn't want to take any chances but I think the other girls are O.K w/ online buying. Thanks everyone for the feedback.

Re: Netbride.com
I ordered mine from net bride. Just received it last week. It was a little wrinkled from shipping, but it needs to be pressed anyway. I am now looking for a seamstress to to the length. But I save over 100 and no shipping or sales tax. I think they were great. The girl there sarah answered every email right away.

Re: Netbride.com
Hi Gracejilly,Sarah was the girl that I spoke to as well. A very good friend of my families is actually a seamstress so that wouldn't be a problem. I'm still debating

Re: Netbride.com
My cousin used them for her entire 12-person bridal party. She said everything came in perfect, at least $100 cheaper and all they had to do was bring the dress to a seamstress/tailor, which also charged them a lot less then the bridal salons were charging. I say go for it. I found out about this a little too late, or I would have tried it myself.Welcome New Vendors
