never knew how hard it was

to make seating charts..

and this is just for my engagement party..

you never realize how many family members have problems with each other until you try and sit them together.

but after almost 13 hours [not all in one day] of trying to make the seating charts, they are finally done so I can start on the seating cards! =]

I hate seating charts. At my e-party someone got all mad bc I didn't sit them with a particular person.

ugh its so annoying and I am DEFINELTY saving the charts for the wedding so I don't have to go through as much of the stress I did with this chart!

I feel your pain. I'm trying to figure out seating arrangements for my E-party as well and it is so difficult!

i don't think I'm giong to do seating charts. I've been to plenty of weddings where you just went in and sat wherever. I'm fine with that.

I'll reserve a table close to the head table for our parents/grandparents (who thankfully have no drama)

but everyone else can free-for-all.

seating chart was very hard so I made DH do it bc he is ruthless , I am a worry about peoples feelings , you need to be cut throat ahhahaha

Seating charts are awful. At least you are getting some practice. Luckly my MIL did the chart for their side of the family. It saved us 4 hours. Advice - do not wait until the last minute to do the charts. It took longer than we thought.

FH's family was the easy part! I was done in like 10 minutes with his side.. but my side was crazy lol but we finally finished so I am relieved and I think everyone will be happy with their seats, hopefully lol

Congrats on being done!!! I had open seating at my E-Party. I didn't want to get stressed or deal.

I am def having open seating and then taking a pix of every table so I know who wants to sit next to who and will reference that when it comes time to do my seating chart.

I would of did open seating but with 100 people, I think it will get too confusing! and it's nicer with assigned seating and having little seating cards. Just my opinion!

just do what I did... sit them where YOU want to sit them... if auntie gertrude and auntie harriot still aren't speaking over the missing candlesticks from 1926 then thats THEIR problem, not yours...

(seriously, it worked out fine for us.. and there were ppl at our e-party that would have killed each other if given the chance, but we didn't have any {major} issues, they just sat at opposite sides of the table)

There was no assigned seating for the eparty as it was in our backyard, but I am already getting 'Mrs. X cant sit with Mrs. Y' and were 6 months away. I have a feeling its not going to be that fun.

same here. FSIL's FIL and MIL were upset that werent at the main table with my parents and FH's parents.
