Does anyone ever wonder if people spy on them? If you thought someone was watching would you still be as free to post?

I really don't like to post too much stuff about me and the wedding b/c you really never know who is on the other side of the computer. i put the barest of descriptions about me and my DH and out wedding.
I'm sure if my company wanted to get rid o me they would say I am on this website way to much and not working

I know what you mean T- I posted my review and one of the vendors from this board read it and called the company that I had posted about and that company called my house at 9:30am on Saturday to yell at me. So to be honest I will be cutting down on my posting and especially stuff about us. I was very disappointed that I was harrassed because I told the truth!

i think about it sometimes but I am not writing anything bad!
I always think someone is spying on me in bathrooms etc bc of a bad experience in a public restroom once. Someone (a guy) was peeking over the stall at me in a Wendys in Manhattan!!

swags - I had the same thing happen with a few different vendors. I just don't post about them anymore.

I don't tell too many people about LIW per se, I'll just say my message board or wedding board.
I like that I can speak freely or get things off my chest without hurting anyone's feelings. A lot of times it's something small or inconsequential that won't make a difference to most people so it's not like I am avoiding an issue, just aggravated.

Ok...I feel a little better. I don't post anything BAD about any of my vendors...and I wouldn't because I do know some vendors are on these boards.

I told one of my BMs yesterday that I booked my DJ...she said I know, I checked LIW. Fortunately, if I say anything about a person or a vendor on here, good or bad, I'm not worried because I have no problem saying whats on my mind to people's faces but I just wouldn't want FH to see my dress!

Actually, there was one vendor we used that I didn't review because of issues I had with them. The day was over and nothing could be done to correct the bad things. I saw them attack a bride on the vendor board so I didn't bother. I will FM my experience to people if I notice someone asking about them.

I had a vendor yell at me about a very negative post I wrote about them. But, I didn't care. I told the truth, they could have defended themselves by posting back (although they couldn't have said much b/c I was being Honest).
I figured if it bothers them that much then it must mean that it has an effect on their business. And, if someone is really bad to work with others should know about it....or at least know of the experience of other brides in evaluating who they choose to work with.
I would never hold my tongue b/c a vendor didn't like what I wrote. But, I wouldn't include pricing info either. Prices change a lot w/time of year, etc. etc.
One of my vendors thought I posted something about her price and called me on it, but it was someone else (it was someone who posted on the same thread right below me), I've careful about the price issue.

I think vendors have people that monitor wedding websites to see what people say about them. It happened to me too, I posted on a limo company and they called me.

It is sad to know that so many of us have had that experience with the vendors. I have removed every mention of this particular vendor from my profile and my write up. He was a friend of Frankie's sister. He even called her and got her involved. So I have had it with him. He will not get any recommendations from me ever!! It wasn't even a bad write up per say it was the truth. I wrote the positive and negatives. I guess freedom of speech doesn't always apply. I am also disappointed that a vendor on here would read that and call and be a tattle tail!

Same thing happened to me with a vendor. She didn't see the post herself, but someone she knows is a vendor on here, saw my post, and told her about it. It was a good post, though, and she thanked me for it.
But it made me think about the review I gave of my limo company, and how I wasn't happy with them. Although I never heard from them, I wonder if they saw it?
It really doesn't matter though. I was HONEST. If a vendor fell short, that's THEIR fault, and they really have no right to be angry. After all, if their service was up to par, we wouldn't have posted something negative, right?
Sometimes I take off pictures that I posted after a few weeks. It kind of creeps me out to think of some nut-job looking at me! LOL!!
DH is VERY careful about posting his picture because of his job.
Truth is, it's a PUBLIC board, so ANYBODY can post here, read our posts, look at our pictures, and heaven only knows what else!
