They will have to get back to you tomorrow. Ron's mother is having an operation right now. They are not in the office.

Freedom of Speech Love - and we're all entitles to our opinions.

I love the word tacky - it's when people abuse the USE of the word that things get out of hand.

I do agree w/the icons gearing towards the Holiday's though - that's an awesome idea Jess!

What ever happened to the puking icon?

there are limitations on freedom of speech. it's why we have such things as libel, slander, and the like. same reason we can't yell fire in a burning building yada yada yada.

the words serves no purpose in bridal lexicon.

I agree - in some cases. However, I'm making the assumption about the 'post' you are referring to, and it's the use of the word that people are liable for, not the word itself.

Definition of 'tacky'
Tack' or 'tacky' also refers to cheap goods

scarey request IMO.

tacky could also mean sticky

'Using too much hairspray on your wedding day could leave a tacky residue on your hairpiece. '

On a similar note, I cringe when I see people using the rolling eyes icon as an insult to someone posting.

But you guys are right. It has appropriate ways to be used and offensive ways to be used.

Re: RON AND LIZ PLEASE!

we are not allowed to use prophanity on this site- why?

I am not looking for big brother here- I'm just tired of the bs really.

it's like these godzilla people walk all over others- and then call FOS...I could say a lot of mean and nasty things too, but I don't. I am 'free' to do it in terms of the law- but there are other 'rules' we should follow- like treating people with kindness and respect, even if you don't agree with their ideas.

so we can split the difference...maybe we could have a manners or 'how to play nice' with others tutorial.

Hi Christine!

I understand your intention, I am not a fan of the idea.

Where does it stop, who draws the line? Everytime someone gets offended do they get to request the offending word be banned?

It's tough to change people Jess - just like there are people on here that are GENUINE in their kindness and never utter a mean syllable, there are those (like myself) who are just RAW and BLUNT with their words, where others take this as 'genuine honesty' others take it as 'being mean.'

It's best to just ignore those who cannot conjure up an opinion without being nasty.

It's an unfortunate thing we face everyday. Such as the folks on the train who do not get up for a pregnant woman, disabled, elderly, or children...it's not a LAW, but it's COURTEOUS to do so.

It's like Howard and the FCC baby!

Sorry, I'm a Republican but a DIE hard Howard fan - had to throw that in there!
