i deleted the original post. this is like the 3rd time i've done that. i just feel like there is no point complaining about it.

you arent! RDs are pretty much tradition, and they were traditionally following a church rehersal, but many brides are going other places, like their RHs for the ceremony.

How about a pot luck RD? could that work? Can someone host and have everyone bring a dish is costs are an issue? It can be fun!

Or you can have a member of the BP ask people to make or recreate yours and FH's fav meals and deserts and apps and have a person provide the plates, etc.

Could work and youd have your RD!

honestly---i think you'll be okay without one. we didn't have an RD. i was bummed cause we couldn't afford it--but then i realized hey---its okay. not the end of the world...we'll still make due!

maybe you could do the rehearsal and make some food and have your BP come back to your house (or someone else's) for the RD?

hope you can figure something out--and if not--seriously its okay to be a little disappoitned.

this is what i wanted to do actually...but the problem is we live in the upstairs of FH's parents house. so i asked FFIL if we could do that, have it at the house. and he said no to that too.

why dont you just have your BP over for cocktails or dessert? Then you can be as loud as you want and people can stay longer anyways. It could be more intimate. And dont invite the FIL's..well ok you probably should lol And i totally know how you feel about the money situation we are having a similar issue.

we live in the upstairs of their house, and it's not enough space so we really don't have the room. otherwise i think that would be a great idea.
