Nevermind- thanks ladies.

do you happen to know any of the noise laws? like I know you can't make noise past 11:00pm, but what time are you allowed to start?
The construction guys decided to start at 6:15 this morning!!!! well they got there and started up the machines, actual construction started at 6:45. the whole house shook, stuff fell off the walls, it was like an earthquake! and they were talking and yelling and just being rude! AND they parked in our driveway without asking, piled dirt in front of my truck, so I had a hard time getting out this morning. My father told my mother to send me out there and flip out on them... but she thought I slept through it. I'm not too happy!

its the town, they're FINALLY putting a drain in by my house- we, along with or neighbors have been asking for almost TWENTY YEARS and have always been ignored... then all of a sudden.. BAM, they're doing it.. no notice- nothing! luckily my parents were both home yesterday and were able to drug the dog, cause she gets REALLY nervous with loud sounds and if the house shakes and well she destroys the house (165+ lbs dog- running through the house trying to hide- not fun).
I just think some sort of notice or something would have been nice.. and maybe if they started around 9:00... considering I don't wake up until 8:40. (i know, i get to sleep in.. but its cause i work part time AND because I teach dance until LATE at night)

soooo... who can I complain to? I really want to go to town hall and raise hell! first the noise, then the parking in the yard, then they PILED all the dirt and crap behind my truck, so I had to pull onto the grass to get at an angle to back out of my driveway without hitting this mass of sh!t...

I think if the town is doing it then your sol. If it was a neighbor or someone else i'd say complain but... if it's the town who do you complain to?

it's the town they make the rules... so I am sur ethey are abiding by them if they are working the job. I am sure those construction workers dont want to get up an earlier than they already have too.

besides you have all asked for 20 years for a drain and are now going to complain when they are finally putting one in. Good luck with that....

Generally it is 7am......but each town or village can set their own. And just because its the town doesn't mean they are exempt. Call the town and complain. if it happens again call the cops!

I was so tempted to call the cops. I mean the noise is one thing.. the house shaking is another.. but the fact that they parked in our driveway, blocking us in.. made my mother wait to pull out to go to work (causing her to be a little late)- same with me... i mean.. thats just wrong. there was no notification that this was going to happen. i'm going to talk to the neighbors today see if they know anything.
