Hello everyone.... so im new...im getting married May 24, 2008 in Leonards.... and im lost... When i saw that place i loved it..... very affordable and it looks great.....but now i don know if im donig anything right... i dont have flowers, photographer, video, dress, music and I dont know where to start, how to start what to do.....HELP

welcome and congrats! first i would look into photography and dj..they usually are the first to book!

First thing I did was shop for photo and video. Many photographers throw in an engagement session which will be nice to do soon. Also I started to come up with a color schemes. Dress shopping you can start right away. Oh! I almost forgot the ceremony! Are you having it at the hall? If not then then you should book that first!

Hello and Welcome. Don't worry. Now that you have your RH I would probably look for photography next the music. Also I am sure you will be spending a lot of time on this site so you can keep asking us all questions. We are all here to help.

Congrats on your wedding!! I wouldnt swaet it too much you still have time! I would check a few florists, djs and stuff to get an idea and then make your decision! I dont think u have to book NOW but i would def start looking!
what kind of budget are you looking at? I can maybe give you a few ideas for vendors!! FM me !

I wouldn't stress about flowers or limos or anything just yet...concentrate on band/dj and photographer...esp since its memorial day weekend...good luck ...use these boards as a resource!

Its alright you have plenty of time, do you have your church? Then do flowers, photo/video, dress etc etc, let just everything fall in place, you will be fine, Congrats and welcome

CONGRATS.. Dont worry you have time., Well start browsing through mag's to get some idea about your dress...
This website will give you great ideas...Set your budget and then...dosome research about which vendors you want to book, meet with them and then book..
After you have all of your vendors booked you can focus on the small details. One thing at a time.

yES If you dont have the church booked then do that one right away. Next start looking around for photo and video and also music, alot of these vendors book quickly...You can get alot of help on vendors here.
Next start shopping around for your dress since some can take 8months-1year to come in. Then you can do flowers and limo and the rest of the things

Hi, I am newly engaged as well...less than two weeks. We booked a hall two days after we got engaged because we knew where we wanted it and fell in love with it even more after we went there. We are meeting with the Priest tonight and looking at DJ's this weekend. I would say the top four things to do are: 1-Hall 2-Church/Religious arrangements 3-Photo/Video 4-DJ/Band
After that, you really don't have to rush with much. I've been told by places already that you have to order your gown 10-12 months before the wedding and Bridesmaid's dresses at least 9 months before. Flowers and other stuff comes later...enjoy!! Hope this helps.

If your having the ceremony at church - definitely work on that. I have almost everything booked - but the church is giving me a hard time

you're fine! dont feel lost. everyone has their opinion on how far in advance you should book things. Hall and church are most important. once you have those, everything else falls into place. if their is a specific vendor you want, you should book it soon so you get it! hope this helps!

Welcome! I am a Leonards bride also!
FH and I booked moved pretty fast with planning bc we knew we were going to get engaged and had an idea of what we wanted.
We officially were engaged 4/28/07 and as of now we have photographer/Videographer, hall, DJ and church booked.
We wanted to make sure the get the major things done early so we would be able to get our date and those things book up quickly.
My suggestion would be to use this site to do some research and start looking around at your own pace. It seems like a lot at first and I was totally overwhelmed BUT it actually seems to fall in place.

Honestly the lowest possible budget I can get..heheh... the original plan was to have wedding in Poland, but afcorse on the way a lot of people were unhappy, so with our small budget which in the beginning was only $10,000...now we adjusting to extra costs... our place will be only $8,000. so now i need to get music and photographer and then i will figure out the rest.....

Now i thing the budget is in around $15,000. ......... my plan is to be done with planning by the end of june.... I hope.... I think that I know what I want. You always want to have the best wedding possible.... my finance brother is getting married two weeks after us, so its crazy.....and two days before our wedding I will graduate from grad school.....sso we have a lot going on next year....we dont even know where we gone live after the wedding...... I have a lot of things that needs to be figure out......We don't know if we should buy the house or rent....basically we are not ready for anything....
