I am a new bride to be... Engaged Thanksgiving Weekend in Costa Rica... Great Place... This site is great and I have gotten great ideas.
We just started looking at different places. We are looking to get married in September 2009 with around 80-100 people.
We went to Davenport, Surf Club and Beckwith Pointe. I really liked Beckwith. Does anyone have any experiences that they would like to share with me about them?
We are also going to look at ac couple of places in Long Island next week... Bellport Country Club and Bridgeview Yacht Club. Does anyone have an opinion about them?
i really want to have a beach themed wedding. Also, if anyone has any other places that they would recommend that are on the water and have a low minimum for guests I would appreciate it.
Can't wait to chat with you all.

Re: New Bride!!!
Atlantica is out of my budget range and Crescent has a minimum of 125 people.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Re: New Bride!!!
Congratulations New Bride and Welcome to the boards.
I am actually from Bellport. The country club is a beautiful place to get married. One of my bridesmaids got married there and I had my confirmation party there. The food is great as well. The golf course is really pretty and would make for great pictures if you are looking for a spring/summer wedding.
We looked at Bridgeview Yacht Club and liked it as well. I believe our reasoning for not picking the place was because we felt it was similar to Chateau La Mer and liked their reception room better.
HTH.

Re: New Bride!!!
Does the Bellport Club or Bridgeview have access to the beach? That is important since I have that theme in mind.
Thanks

I looked at Bridegview. They are located on a dock. To get to the beach would be about a 5 minute drive.

Re: New Bride!!!
Thanks for the advice. I think I might cancel that appointment for next saturday. I really liked crescent but there minimum is too high. I heard their food and service is great (I know someone who just got married there).
I think that if Bellport doesnt work out Beckwith Pointe will be my choice. The banquet manager really was helpful.
Thanks

Re: New Bride!!!
Bellport Country Club is not on the water, but Sunset Harbor is. It is a couple miles from the Country Club.
Sunset Harbor 90 Colonial Dr # 293 East Patchogue, NY 11772 Phone: (631) 289-2582
I would really keep an open mind... Dont settle on a place you dont fall in love with just because they have the beach area you are lookin for... I gave up on the beach area b/c i couldnt afford the ones i really liked and been to tons of weddings on davenport ave and didnt want to go that route even though i'm in the bronx
I am doin a beach/caribbean theme and i am def not near any sand... instead I have bright flowers everywhere in the gardens at my RH...a lake... and am adding steel drums and everything else to give it that caribbean feel

Re: New Bride!!!
I can give you some advice on the following:
Atlantica - was min. 125 and it was $160 pp
Greentree Country Club - min 125
The Surf Club - min 100 for a afternoon wedding at $95 pp and min 200 for an evening wedding
Beckwith Pointe - is looking like a go for me.. its about $132 pp for an evening wedding
Davenport country Club - nice owner (he is like 80 yrs old), good price ($85 pp) but it has a dated look. It is an old house.
VIP Country Club - min 125
Glen Harbour - I heard the service wasnt good and they ahve a 125 min
And this does not include tax or tip in the prices.

Re: New Bride!!!
Welcome and congrats on your engagement! I looked at Bellport CC and I thought it was gorgeous. We ended up booking villa lombardi's.
