new bride moving from la to ny wooohoooo!!

Hello everyone!!! i had originally planned on my wedding being in LA, but finally decided it would be best to get married in New York since I will be moving there in August to be with my fiance.

i feel so very overwhelmed yet excited at the same time. i could use advice about everything!!!

i am so happy there is a forum like this just for ny... i was on the knot and this one is sooooo much better. look forward to getting to know you all!!

one thing i need help on asap... i am having a pretty small wedding 75 people or so, but i still want a wedding planner. do you all have any recommendations? whats the average cost for a wedding planner?

Welcome and good luck with your move!! Where in NY will you be living? I'm seeing a wedding consultant this weekend. I'll get you the info that you will need.

Welcome! Re: a wedding planner, we used and loved Elaine DeLuca (www.exquisiteeventsnewyork.com). I think that others have used and been happy with Jodi from Simplicity Planning. You could also check out New York Magazine's website (www.newyorkmetro.com) - they have their wedding stuff online, including wedding planners I believe. Good luck!

i've talked to several different planners and you can definitely hire them for just day of. the ones i talked to run from 750-1250.

i want to be as stress-free as possible on my big day, and since all my friends and family will be flying in the weekend of the wedding, i need all the help i can get!

Where in LA? I currently live there and having my wedding in NY where I am from. We definately should talk! Big differences between LA and NY, both pos and neg.
