I would do a search for them on this site and see what pops up. i am sure there are some reviews written about them and it will include pictures.
I havent been there for a wedding so i cant personally comment.

I haven't been there either... i googled for a review - here is a link of what i found. Every review you read will have both positive and negatives, i usually just try to stick with which one is the majority....
Hi and welcome!! I had my engagement party at the Douglaston Manor on 4/10/10 - there are some pics in my album. I have some really good and some not so good things to say about the place but all in all it was a good time. FM me if you wanna hear all the details of my experience with them

Welcome and Congrats!!
A friend of mine went to a Wedding there. She said it was nice and had good things to say.. the only thing she said that was neg was that the waiters and waitresses were not attentive during the reception. are you looking at any other RHs?

Re: New Bride need Help
Thanks for all the help. Yes I have looked at other places but i am really looking for something different reception hall wise. I am very simple and I really liked the clean minimilist feel of Douglaston Manor. I am looking for something similar to it that doesnt break the bank. I loved the Inn at New Hyde Park but it was very expensive and the minimum they required was ridiculous. This is more stressful than I thought it would be.

I've never been to a wedding there but me and FH checked it out when we were looking into places cause it had the look we wanted and my SIL said she's been the sweet sixteens there and the food was good.

Hello 2011 bride to be, welcome!!!!! Are you looking for a more rustic vintage feel or modern feel? Are you having your ceremony there? Do you want the RH to have a nice outdoors area? What time of year are you looking to get married?

Re: New Bride need Help
I am looking for soemthing a little modern but with a mansion or castle type feeling. I am havign the ceremony there as well and i really want nice outdoor space. My biggest thing and i dont really want to comprise on it is the outdoor space since I am looking for outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour. I really want to get married in August but im a little flexible with that.

Re: New Bride need Help
Did you try Westbury Manor, the outside is amazing there, they have roaming peacocks and exotic birds and it is a mansion that they have made into an RH? Chateau Briand is modern, they have a modern outside area. The swan has a beautiful outside too. Dowling has a mansion there, with a nice outside area, you have to pay a site fee though. Oh, you know where also, the fox hollow. If you get married at these places during spring it cuts the cost like crazy!!!! I am doing a Sunday spring wedding and got a great price at westbury manor.
go on weddingwire.com and they have reviews on there for Douglaston manor.

Re: New Bride need Help
I was at the Douglaston Manor for a 50th surprise party. I haven't been to a wedding there. The food was good, but the room we were in was very small. I know they had larger rooms downstairs that are probably used for weddings.

I used to work there when I was a teenager. I also had my sweet 16 there. They do multiple events at a time, and the rooms aren't too big. That's about all I can remember! One of the rooms has a big tree that goes through the roof. i am assuming it's still there!

Re: New Bride need Help
I'm getting married there in September, and so far I couldn't be happier with everything. Also, that tree is gone. It's outside of the glass now, on the patio.
