New Bride - need help! please!

Hi all, I just got engaged on 11/15/09 and am currently looking at wedding venues throughout Long ISland, Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan.

The FH and I have looked at The Woodlands, Woodbury Country Club, North Ritz Club, and Sand Castle. Please give me any suggestions you may have on other venues. .

Thanks girls!

Congrats!!

What type of venue are looking for? What things do you want your venue to have and what things do you not want your venue to have? How big is your guest list? Is budget an issue? If you can answer some of those questions you may get a better suggestion of venues :)

I got married at Westbury Manor and loved it. Def worth at least going to see it.

Budget is not really an issue. I mean it doesn't need to be cheap but I also can't go above $175 p/p.

We have about 150-175 guests.

I am open to different types of places. I would prefer one wedding at a time but if I love the place then I can look past that. How many weddigns does Westbury hold at a time?

I alos like the idea of having an outdoor cocktail hour.

Thanks for your response :)

Westbury manor is gorgeous and has a beautiful area for outside cocktail hour.
The inn at New Hyde Park does one wedding at a time- I didnt go there because their minimum was too high for me, so maybe someone else can tell you about it.
Milleradge Cottage is also one wedding at a time- but no outside cocktail hour- although their room for the CH is covered in windows and is very pretty...
thats all i got@!

From what you're describing, I would definitely check out Flowerfield.

Welcome & Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!

for 150-175 I would definetly suggest The Riviera in Massapequa..

It's a beautiful place but it only holds up to 200 and we have more than that or thats where we would go!

And the prices arent bad at all!

Good luck!

Congrats and welcome!!!! I would HIGHLY recommend you go look at The Royalton, especially seeing the other places you've looked. The Royalton does every wedding custom, no packages, no bs. They give you SO much for your money, it's one wedding at a time, the grounds are beautiful, the food is SICK!

The Royalton Mansion

Here are some pics of my wedding, and day after pics show the grounds (it was a monsoon on my wedding day lol).

since you have a high enough budget i would check out the Inn at New Hyde Park, or Russo's on the Bay. I think weddings at those venues were the best I've been to!
