New Brides I need Advice

I am unsure on what to do with my Brides Maids
I have 10 BM's with all different shapes, I went to several Bridal stores. I shouldnt have driven myself crazy, and just stayed where i bought my bridal gown in Bridal suite of Bayshore..It was as if I was
missing out on something if I didnt go to other bridal shops, but the service and selection of any other shop didnt compare to The
Bridal Suite Of BAYSHORE--Had the Biggest Selection Of Bridal & BM dresses, and Lots of LARGE SIZES!!!!!!
-But what style do we get my BM's range from size 7-24--THey suggested Aline--what do you suggest & color also???
Help me its getting down to the wire.....

Ok, well...you still have a lot of time for this so don't panic.

I suggest you take 2 or 3 of your bridesmaids, all different body types, to the store with you, and have them try on everything to help you narrow down.

Sheath styles tend to look good on a lot of people. Also, a lot of designers make separates collections now. Have you tried this?

Your wedding is in the fall, so you can really go for some of the darker, richer colors. Those will compliment anyone! Burgundy is beautiful, as is navy for a fall wedding....you have so many options really.

Good luck to you!

I have 8 girls + 2 junior BM in my wedding. They range from size 4 to 24. I went looking around and found a company that had a variety of dresses in the same color line. I picked champagne as a color. My girls are getting Morilee dresses, there were about 12 different styles to choose from and I let each girl pick out the dress, whatever they felt comfortable with.

For my junior BM I order Miss Julian dresses with an ivory top and champagne skirt. I think the variety will make the pictures look awesome and everyone was happy because they will feel comfortable with the dresses they chose.

I had 8 BMs, one was only 14 but she was NOT a JR BM, she would have killed me if I made her feel like a 'baby' plus I had a FG. Okay, all of my girls were different shapes and sizes. My best friend is 103, 5'1. My sister is 5'10 and NOT 103, and the rest of the girls were all inbetween. I took my sister and best friend ONLY to the store with me. I had them try on seperates. It was perfect. Both looked great and both were comfty in the outfit- a very important point. Then I told the other girls all of the ordering info. It was that simple.
I think when you give a 'vote' to each of the girls you will have trouble. If you chose a seperate, you can decide if you want them all in the same pieces (I did), or in different tops/bottoms all in the same color. That way each of your girls feels beautiful that day.

I disagree with the sheath style looking good on all sizes (I'm around a 10, and I feel very lumpy in a sheath, theres no room to hide a belly pouch). I think A-line is good (loose in the waist), along with 2-piece dresses. Both are more forgiving.

I would say that with the size range you have, a darker color may be safer -- burgandy, purple, navy, forest green.

I say relax, round up two of your bridesmaids, and then you have 3 people (including you) to try it on. Find something that flatters all three of you, and then hope for the best on everyone else.

I have 10 girls and 2 juniors in my wedding!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!! Anyway, I havent totally settled on my dresses yet either. But there is still plenty of time! So don't get yourself stressed.

I think I am going with seperates! All the girls are going to love me when I tell them, because they can choose their own tops that they are most comfortablein. And in the end, everyone is happy!

Good Luck!

I let my girls pick their own dresses, same color & material, different styles.
Jim Hjelm has a big selection.

I was going to suggest separates as well. They seem to have the most flexibility. Good luck and don't panic! You have time.

Edited to say:

You may also want to consider picking a specific color and letting your girls find a dress they like in the color scheme of your choice.

I also let my BM's pick out their own dresses, but they had to be from Jim Hjelm, satin and in bourdeaux (as jennbaby said, they had so many dresses to choose from). They all look great in the dresses they chose for themseleves and they'll feel comfortable that day, so they'll be happy, enjoy the day and look great in pictures. I definitely recommend it.

I have 11 girls.. all dif shapes and sizes and I picked a 2 piece.. I had 2 of my girls come with me and that kind of style complimented the girls best...

I would either suggest Aline or 2 piece separates.
For 2 pieces, some good designers are Jim Hjelm, Dessy, and my favorite, Impression Bridals.

I was ina BP where the girls ranges form a size 2 to a size 20 and all of the dresses that we all liked were a-line. Two pieces are also great too.
