New Car Jacking Scheme

New Car Jacking Scheme

Someone sent this e-mail to me. I just thought I would post it. It may help somebody one day.

Imagine:
You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside.
Then you lock all your doors, start the engine and shift into REVERSE.
Habit! You look into the rear-view window to back out of your parking
space and you notice a piece of paper, some sort of advertisement stuck
to your rear window.

So, you shift into PARK, unlock your doors and jump out of your
vehicle to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing
your view... when you reach the back of your car, that is when the
car-jackers jump out of no where ... jump into your car and take off --
your engine was running, your purse is in the car, and they practically
mow you down as they speed off in your car.

BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME

Just drive away and remove the paper that is stuck to your window later.

Wow, that is scary! I have to say that since I am such a scardy cat, I probably would drive with it on the window hoping it would fall off eventually or just take it off when I get home. I am always so paranoid like that. It is because of these things.

I would be too lazy to do all that. If by chance I didn't notice the flyer when I was headed to the car, it would blow right off the rear window when I started driving anyway.

Here's something I learned from my 11 yr-old nephew:

If you ever get carjacked/abducted (ok, kinda different, but still good to know this) while you are IN THE CAR...get out and run towards the BACK of the car in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION the car is traveling ....it is harder for the abductor to chase you in reverse! Most of them will expect you to run in the direction the car is travelling...
