Re: NEW- FOX HOLLOW BRIDES- Question and Answer Thread

Posted by christine12

I saw it a few weeks ago. They still have a long way to go. They said to come in January because they expect to make good progress by then. I will be there tomorrow night for the PWP Tea Party. I'll let you know if there have been any changes worth seeing.

I wasn't able to make it to the tea the first time I scheduled it, and haven't gotten around to rescheduling it. Can you let me know how it is and whether or not you found it helpful. I'm crazy busy this semster with classes, and I don't want to go if it's not really helpful.

Thanks!!

Hi ladies!
Quick question... do they have a cake stand that we can use? is it round, square, silver, gold... ?

Also, what do the place cards look like?

Thanks!

I went in March and found it a bit boring and pointless. They basically give you a time line and outline the services they can provide (some are complimentary, others will cost you.) They also talk about some of the house vendors. I found it easier to go to the wedding showcase... get in, talk to any vendors you want info from, and get out.

Thanks for the info.. I've booked a lot of my vendors already, so I don't think I'll waste my time going to the tea.

Re: NEW- FOX HOLLOW BRIDES- Question and Answer Thread

I have a question for the Fox Hollow Brides.. Did ************* flowers stalk you like crazy? They finally calmed down, but at one point they were calling my multiple times a day!! I had told them one of the first times they called, that I was not ready to book a florist yet, and that I would keep them in mind when I was ready. To be honest with you, I won't even call them now because I found them so incredibly annoying.

I haven't seen them, but I think I saw other brides say that they had the Fox Hollow label on them. I could be wrong about that though. If that is the case, I found some that didn't seem too expensive online, and I'll probably just print them up myself at home.

I saw the place cards when I was there (another bride was picking hers up). They have fox hollow design on them. Not sure if I am going to use them or get my own to match everything else.

Re: NEW- FOX HOLLOW BRIDES- Question and Answer Thread

So, I went to the Tea Party last night. OMG Amanda can talk! She is very sweet but honestly since this is not my first marriage I didn't get much out of it. I think it is a great idea for first time brides if you are unsure about what you need. They cover everything! I did get some good info from some of the vendors though so it wasn't a total waste.
I peeked in at the construction and can report that not much as changed since the last time I was there unfortunately. I know they are waiting until the slower season to do the major work so time will tell.

Re: NEW- FOX HOLLOW BRIDES- Question and Answer Thread

This new room is making me nervous. =( I just hope they can handle an extra affair. I'm having a day wedding and was considering the new room but I really wanted an outside cocktail hour so I went with the larger room. I can't wait to see pics of the new room!! I wonder who will be the first bride in the new room?? =)

Re: NEW- FOX HOLLOW BRIDES- Question and Answer Thread

I am nervous too! I booked the room for April 23rd. I almost felt like the first one to know, since other brides here thought I was telling lies. Who could blame them? Some BMs were not being totally honest with them and my BM told me not to mention it because he didn't want people to make last minute changes for the new room. He said he didn't want to make it an issue. They were only going to tell people who were just coming in, so it was pretty annoying for me and i am sure everyone else who is curious and still is. It made me nervous then but now i am probably even more nervous considering the news that there still hasn't been much done and i am afraid that it will look tacky. I hope it doesn't. I love all the other rooms but even with all the sketches and all, I fear it will be the total opposite from the classic decor, Fox Hollow is popular for.

I was worried about that as well, but the new room is actually taking place of the Briar Fox room, or at least that is what I was told. The BF room is going to be used only for cocktail hours, after the new room is able to be used. People who are already booked in the BF room, of course will still have their weddings in that room, but I was told that the Briar Fox room would no longer be booked for weddings for new brides. So I think the amount of weddings that they have going on at once willk be the same as it always was.

I was actually originally booked in the BF room, because my fiance really liked it, but I had some reservartions about the size, and the low ceilings. We had called to talked to them about possibly switching to the new room, and it ended up becoming a huge mess. We were told incorrect information by different people, and it was only corrected and figured out after about 2 months, and we ended up having to change our date. It was extremely frustrating, and I wouldn't necessarily say that I thought they were all that helpful, even after it was clear that we had been told incorrect information by people who work there.

I'm not saying all of this to talk bad about the Fox Hollow, or to scare other people, I just want to give people a heads up to make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing. If ANY changes are made at all to your original contract, make sure you have documentation of it because they can very easily tell you that the person you were talking to had no authority to tell you things.

Re: NEW- FOX HOLLOW BRIDES- Question and Answer Thread

When they were first planning the new room it seems like they didn't really do a good job making sure the BMs knew what the plan was.
I told them to expect to see me periodically checking up on the construction.

Re: NEW- FOX HOLLOW BRIDES- Question and Answer Thread

Hey girls! I went for my tasting this weekend at Francesco's and I have to say, it was great! So many flavors and fillings to choose from and Francesco was very helpful!! He answered all our questions and really worked with us on upgrade pricing.

I'm really happy that Fox Hollow switched to them, I think they'll do a great job with our cakes!

I am getting married there in June of 2011 and my cocktail hour is definitely in the Briar Cliff room, i was also told it was going to be only a cocktail hour room now...

The new room is being built upstairs in the back off of the existing Lantern CH room.
Have you been to the PWP Tea Party?
If so, it is right behind that room.

Does anyone know the how much adding VH costs? I was never really was interested in it, but it might be worth if for the right price. Also, has anyone been able to negotiate the VH price down?

TIA

We were able to negotiate down to 5 per person...talk to your booking manager!
