Re: New Hotel In Long Beach? Allegria?
i live in Long Beach!
the building is still very heavily under construction, i believe that it is supposed to be done in 'early spring 2009'. I doesn't even look like they have the basic structure completed yet.
I have seen the drawings and it looks like it's going to be amazing.... i got pretty upset that I missed out on having our wedding there, but i have a feeling that its going to be VERY pricey.
i called about blocking rooms there and it was about 240$ a night and that is during the week, not on the weekend.
good luck! and if you can can get a good deal being one of the first weddings go for it!!!

Yeah for sure going to ask about 'introductory offers.' The most recent news says its opening Feb of 09, but it will probably end up being April/May. You have to figure that they're going to push to get the construction done before the summer travel season starts...
Plus if we do Long Beach, I might even be able to just have people take cabs/car services home instead of spending the night...?

Its looks pretty cool. It looks like they have a nice ballroom. It looks like weddings and events will take place there

Ok I spoke to them...they are doing special pre construction pricing, I'm not sure what it is yet because I'm waiting for the Catering person to call me back...
They're anticipating opening in March.
More to follow...

LOL well I hope for my sake that its not that expensive because its really my last option HERE on LI for what I want.
And don't worry, you're getting married in June, that would be too close to sweat...say there is a construction delay, then what?!?!

An ON the beach ceremony--so basically my only option is Gurney's.

On the sand.
And I know someone that got married there and it rained and her ceremony was GROSS. So I need something with a safe backup.
My other option is a place in Cape May but the problem with that is the 2 night minimums at EVERY hotel. Cape May Wedding Link

Heres an update--I think that its the same owners of the Atlantica. The email exchange is the same!

Re: New Hotel In Long Beach? Allegria?
Ok heres the update--
I don't have specific pricing, but I said my price range is bt 140-200 and she said Fri or Sun fits in with that and she might be able to make Sat work on the high end of that. This is PRE construction pricing and for a guarantee of 100 people. So i'm thinking for regular pricing its gonna be 225 ish...for a Sat night.
it IS the same owners of the Atlantica.
they are opening in March of 2009
they will do beachfront ceremonies but its tricky bc its a public beach. You think about Long Beach over the summer and ...well it might not be the best idea.
They do have a ROOFTOP ceremony location that overlooks the ocean (awesome!!!!!)
And thats it!
I'm gonna go see it (pics and pricing) this weekend so i'll know more then!

Re: New Hotel In Long Beach? Allegria?
I actually live down the block from that hotel...and here the construction taking place as I write!! I can't tell you if its nice (although the pictures outside it looks like it will beautiful)...they don't look close to done butttt I do know they are there every day working on that building if that makes you feel better!
The ceremony will be in front of the hotel? Because the lifeguard stand is a little to the right of the hotel, there are several volleyball courts in front, and its one of the blocks that the LIRR drops off all the city people for the beach.
Hope this helps...Marisa :)

Yup any beaches from Long Beach Rd to Magnolia are all city folk (BBQ's as us original LB people call them) Brooklyn Bronx & Queens. So those beaches are packed all of the time until at least 6pm & if Volleyball tourneys or surf tourneys are going on its even more crowded.

i didnt get from that email you forwarded me that the answer was yes to the beach ceremony. it sounded more like a no to me since its such a public and busy beach. did she tell you otherwise after that? i like the rooftop idea though!!!!

Re: New Hotel In Long Beach? Allegria?
Ok I met with them on Saturday and I love them and I'm booking soon (just have some details to work out)!!!
Again, opening in March, they have stuff scheduled for May so I'm resting assured that they'll be functioning normally by Sept when I'm booking for...
It looks like its going to be amazing and i'm excited!!!
The pre construction rates are really affordable...in a year, I wouldn't be able to touch this place, but I guess its all meant to work out!!!!
FM me if you want any specific details.
