No, not at all. I think that's a great gift and she'd really appreciate it since all of it will come in handy.

NO WAY! My FH and I just bought our first house (4 weeks ago Friday) and That would be a very cute idea. At times like these, the GC is awesome. The cleaning supplies are a cute idea. Swiffer duster is a MUST!

I think that's really cute. You could also do it like that bridal shower poem. Here's one example - there are many versions and you can alter it so it's not so 'bridal showery'. And you could always add other stuff

'You wrap all 15 items, number the packages and place them all in a laundry basket/hamper/garbage can. She reads the poem aloud and opens each # as she get to that part of the poem.

We gather together with you to celebrate the --1-- (dawn) of a new --2-- (era). Marriage is a journey. Some days it will be pure --3-- (joy) but let's take a moment and talk about the others.

There may come a time when you realize your big --4-- (brawny) guy isn't Necessarily --5-- (Mr. Clean). When this and other little glitches occur, don't --6-- (shout) or send up an --7-- (SOS). Go --8-- (easy-on) him. Hopefully the --9-- (Tide) will change quickly, tensions will --10-- (vanish), and things will --11-- (bounce) back to normal.

We think you and Greg are a --12-- (fantastic) couple with a --13--(zest) for life and a sincere appreciation for each other. We fully support you as you and Greg --14-- (pledge) to spend your lives as one.

We wish you all the best... Including love, happiness and lots of time to --15-- (snuggle).'

That's perfect! We just moved into our apt and I used the laundry basket full of cleaning supplies to clean everything. It was by far the most useful gift we got! Cleaning supplies can be expensive!

Do they have a BBQ? How about a personalized BBQ board??? I would love to get one.

Otherwise how about a really nice plant in a beautiful pot? Like an orchid.

Or, personalized/monogrammed guest towels for her powder room.

I print this into a pretty card and make a basket:

A Basket of Good Wishes for your New Home
Each item inside holds a special significance

Bread – So you’ll never go hungry
Broom – To sweep away the evil
Candle – So you’ll always have light
Coin – To bring you good fortune throughout the year
Honey – So you’ll always have sweetness in your life
Olive Oil – So you’ll always have health,
Plant – So you’ll always have life
Rice – So you’ll be blessed with a beautiful family
Salt – So you’ll always have spice in your life, & will mend any wounds
Wine – So you’ll never go thirsty
Wood – So your life/home will always have stability, harmony and peace
