i love it!! its very elegant. i think it looks like its missing something because of the colors. everyone is so use to seeing bold/modern colors now a days. doesnt mean that it is ........missing something that is

that's the one thing FH said he didn't want on the invitation. he doesn't like crystal embellishments.

That would have been my suggestion as well. But I know what you're dealing w/ because mine doesn't like crystals either. I really think they're just perfect as is. I agree with what Roz said about people just being used to seeing bold/modern stuff, but I don't think that's the vibe you're going for (and maybe i'm wrong).

your right. the other one we had (blue & brown) was the more modern look everyone is used to seeing. since the BMs are wearing black satin dresses & since i am in a rather traditional dress myself, i think this invitation sets the tone better.

Not at all, this is literally what I was thinking. They are pretty, but it needs....something. Some extra oomph.
this is very helpful. what do you think it needs?
maybe the font that all the text is in? if you're going for a more elegant look, i would do a dif. type of script-maybe that's what's throwing me off
