Ok, so I just started a new job a little over a month ago. I'm in sales and I am in between 2 groups, under 2 supervisors. There are about 6 people in each group. I am leaning to inviting just the 2 managers and their spouses-should I wait it out? Do I try to dig up their addresses? What is the 'ettequite'?

I do not plan on inviting any co-workers, but I also plan to keep my wedding small and intimate - close friends and relatives only.

Re: New job-to invite, or not to invite?
I started my teaching job in September and I am not inviting anyone from work. One major deciding factor is that we simply can not afford it. Also - I will be moving to Albany in the fall.

I don't plan to invite any of my co-workers, I work there for 6 yrs but I have 60ppl in my office, so it is hard for me to pick some and I don't want to invite all..so the best thing to do is NONE.

You could always put them on a b-list and invite if you don't make your minimum or if you feel you could afford to have more people. If I had a new job I wouldn't invite anyone, but that is just me!
BTW I just noticed we are hall twins!!! Who do you deal with over there? I palk to Lisa and I love her!!!

I personally wouldn't. But you could always put them on your 'B' list

You shouldn't invite any of them and invite me....hehehe J/K I don't think you need to invite anyone else but the bosses and that's even if you're close to them! But I just started a new job too and I don't think I'm inviting any of them because I'm not that close with any yet, I guess I'll just wait till it comes closer!

Re: New job-to invite, or not to invite?
I have a large team that I work with and Im not inviting any of them only by good friend at work and 2 other gfirls we all go out to lunch and talk outside of work. Also my manager and that is because it is just the right thing to do IMO- with hopes that she wont come but Im still inviting her.
My theory is this if you dont speak with them outside of work why invite.

i don't think there is any need to invite them since you are new there... if you were there longer that would be different.

I wouldn't invite any of them.. you aren't there long enough to offend anyone if you didn't invite them.. totally cool

I don't think they'd be offended if you didn't invite them- they'd have to understand!
I feel almost the same way about my job, but I've been there since September. I wonder if I'll regret inviting some and not inviting others...ya know, as friendships grow or regress....

I wouldd invite the 2 managers. If you are not close with anyone else there then why waste the money? I have 41 people in my office and I only invited 8 - it's impossible to invite everyone - i'm sure the other people in your office will understand.

I am not iviting any coworkers. You are under no obligation to. Think of it this way, would you be offended if they didn't invite you to their wedding?
