New orleans

A few friends and I are thinking of going to New Orleans in April. Can anyone recommend a hotel?

I've stayed at the Omni Royal Orleans. It was very beautiful. Not sure how to compare it to other hotels there though because it's the only one I've been to there.

I stayed in the International House - it's a boutique hotel just outside of the French Quarter. I believe it's near the Sheraton. It's a close walk to Mother's as well!! That's a must-do for breakfast!!!

NOLA is one of my fave cities!! Are you going for Jazz Fest???

Omg!!! We stayed at the Dauphine . It was hands down the most AMAZING hotel I have ever stayed at. Now granted, it wasn't overly 'fancy'... but I don't think that should be the objective when going to NOLA. It was quaint , charming and to me embodied that New Orleans vibe. I would suggest upgrading to one of the courtyard rooms with the Jacuzzi . Here is my yelp review...

This Hotel is absolutely the best to stay in when you are visiting NOLA. We just took a trip for my birthday and booked a deluxe king for three nights. Upon check in , we were upgraded to a room in the carriage house with a Jacuzzi tub. The guy at the front desk was so sweet and welcoming, and everyone else we spoke with during our stay was wonderful.

Reasons why I loved this hotel:

1) The Bed, oh lord , the bed. AMAZING . Tempupredic, down pillows and comforter , California king. You feel like you're sleeping on a cloud.

2) The saltwater pool is clean, and a great way to start end the day.

3) The double headed shower and Jacuzzi tub

4) Free beer or wine upon check in at the bar

5) Really nice Continental breakfast

6) 1/2 block from bourbon street , but quiet!

I will always try to stay here when I book future travels to Nola.

Re: New orleans

Thanks sooooooo much ladies!! I was in NOLA once, but only for the day prior to getting on a cruise. My close friends and I (since Kindergarten!) are all turning 30 this summer and we thought we would plan a little trip to celebrate our year. We thought NOLA would be something different and fun.

Thanks again for the recommendations!!!
