So I looked into his ears, and theres all blank gunk in em... I read that it could be ear mites, but havent seen him scratching at them really... If we bring him to a vet, is it gonna cost a fortune? Bc Im considering just going to petco and telling them whats up and seeing if they have some type of med i can treat his ears with... Any suggestions?

We always fed our cats twice a day. He would get dry in the morning mixed with a little water and wet at night. For a kitten that little I would feed him/her about 3 to 4 times a day with small amounts so his/her little stomach can digest it. Good luck and post a picture when you can. I just love kittens and think the only thing cuter than a kitten is a baby (human of course).

where did you get the cat from? kittens do eat a lot while they're growing, but at a certain point, you have to ask yourself if they need to be de-wormed.
our cat is a female, so she always ate dry food. it's the males who have the problem with kibble. it can cause blockages in their uninary tract.

I agree.. I would feed the kitty a little bit of food 3 times a day.. Since the cat is a baby it wont need as much food as an adult cat. Good luck with your new baby! Kittens are the best!!!!!

So cute!!
Vaccines can start at 8 weeks of age. There are typically 3-4 sets with the rabies vax being given last, boosters at 1 year
I would recommend to ask you family and friends about vets they take their animals to for recommendations. That way you can form a relationship with that vet for the kittys lifetime. Also, gives you one person (or a few) if multiple vets in a practice that you can call when you have questions.
I worked with a few vets before going to school- where are you located?

Re: Anyone have/had a kitten? Need advice!
There's a place called affordable vet care in brookhaven. I don't know where you live. They are sooooo reasonable with everything!!! Fm me if you want more info. They are really good and honest too!! I had to take one of my cats to animal hospital one night they were going to charge me $1000 for an anal gland surgery. I took the cat to the vet the next day to have the surgery which was only 300 at affordable vet care. The vet told me that he'd save me the 300 because it's a completely unnecessary procedure!! I think the shots were like 30 dollars.

Re: Anyone have/had a kitten? Need advice!
I have 2 cats, and we got them both when they were kittens. They get fed twice a day, once in the morning and once at night with about half a can of wet food each time. I keep dry food in their bowl all day long, but I wont' fill it more than once a day. so it's about a cup a day of dry food too, that way they can eat when they're hungry. I've found that cats aren't like dogs...if a dog has food in it's bowl, they will eat it!! My 2 kinda ration their food, they make it last! haha
I've heard that the dry is important for kittens because it helps make their teeth strong...but dont' quote me, I'm not an expert!!

This is how I was always told to feed my cats too! Dry food out all day. My FMIL had the urinary track blockage thing with her kitty and their vet said you can give your cat dry food but just look for dry food that has a LOW ASH content. She said you can find it pretty much anywhere, but definitely petco/petsmart.
