New To Site Need Help!

Hello Everyone!
I am new to the site and in need of assistance! I just got engaged and feel sooooooo lost! My fiance and I are looking to possibly get married in fall of 2010 and are already having trouble with dates. Can anyone give me some advice on the woodlands, glen cove mansion or fowerfields?
Thanks so much!

My BM is a videographer and he says that Flowerfield does the best weddings hands down. Of course this is just his opinion.

Re: New To Site Need Help!

We're getting married at Flowerfield! OMG I am completely in love with it. I'll tell you why we went there-
My brother got married at Land's End and it was the most amazing wedding I ever went to! The cocktail hour was out of this world and the whole dinner was insane. Not to mention it was just an amazingly beautiful place. I was like, I would totally get married here! One problem...
I firmly believe that I cannot get married where either family or a close friend has been married.
Then I found out that Land's End had a sister RH--- Flowerfield! I looked into it on line and asked around. I heard nothing but beyond rave reviews! I was sold.
Then I heard that it was 'sooo expensive.' Not exactly true. OK, so they maybe more than most places, but I was hearing $200+ on a Saturday night. My advice: get married on a Friday night, and not in June, July, or September (those are 'peak' months). And remember- they will work with your budget! Good luck and congrats!

And I forgot to mention: the bridal suite is beautiful, the grooms suite is out of this world (and how many places even offer a grooms suite?)! The atrium where you have your CH is jaw-droppingly out of control, tropical, elegant. If your planning on getting married there the gazebo on an small island in their pond is perfect. And if it rains you can get married in the atrium, where your aisle is a bridge over a massive indoor goldfish pond. Perfection at its finest!
Can you tell I am in love with out RH? I have issues!

Welcome and congratulations!
A friend of mine was married at FF and everyone loved it. Worth the money.

As for GCM...I believe it is a flat fee for $25K... not sure how many people that includes - if there is a restriction, but they give the quote and menu options over email. I do know that there is a policy in place that if you are a bride who is staying there but are NOT getting married there, you cannot take pictures on premises (or at least outside of your guest room) if someone else is getting married that day. So that is a plus for the GCM bride.

Welcome and Congrats! I see you have 10/10/10 as your wedding date now...that would be VERY hard to get. I looked at the beginning of 2008 and that date was already booking up very quickly.

However, if you're flexible with day of the week and time of day, I'm sure you can find some place (and at a cheaper rate too!)

Good luck

Re: New To Site Need Help!

first of all, welcome and congrats on your engagement!!!

I booked at the Woodlands!! I looooove it!

The woodlands is beautiful bc of the long drive back to the mansion, the beautiful grounds, and has an outdoor area for cocktail hour. We loved the Woodlands bc it was different than a lot of catering halls....i love the old fashioned look and cozy feel it has. The food at the Woodlands is soooo good. Everyone we have worked with there has been great so far. I can't wait till our day.

I can give you some price info that I had gotten for April and May if you want to FM me.

Good Luck!!!
