New to site...recently engaged

Original post by MrsNoodles

Hi Everyone.... I'm new to this site...I got engaged about 2 months ago...I cant believe its been that long already. We haven't booked our RH yet, we've been looking every chance we get. But there are just sooo many out there and because we are looking at next September, I feel like nothing will be available if it takes any longer. Although we are pretty flexible with the date as long as we LOVE the RH.... I was just wondering if anyone has any RH suggestions and/or any other planning suggestions.

Thanks

Congratulations!! How many guests are you having? I'm of course partial to Lombardi's (any of the 3). Food is amazing!!

Happy planning

Thanks everyone...
We looked at 3 in LI so far, North Ritz, Larkfield Manor and Chateu La Mer... We are going to look at Swan Club, The Inn at NHP, Royalton Mansion. I dont want to go to far out in Long Island because all of our guests including us are about an hour or more away. I want good food (big cokctail hour) and a gorgeous place- probably what everyone wants ...and a reasonable price....LI seems to be pretty reasonable but a lot of Saturdays were already book...so we are considering Sunday also.

Welcome & Congrats!
I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend looking at Crest Hollow Country Club IMO, it was the most beautiful hall on the island that we looked at. FH & I also loved Majestic Gardens.

Welcome! I highly recommend Inn at NHP. It's beautiful. I also have great things to say about Jericho terrace. My sister had her wedding there and everything was perfect.

congrats and welcome to 2010'ers!

u can also buy a very helpful magazine 'Sites and Services' the NY+CT edition. its only $5 but has all the RH's listed by areas and then gives all the info on them including avg. prices, whats available on the premises and what kind of food they serve. a very helpful magazine

No need for a magazine! Just Click Here!

Congrats and welcome! My recommendation would be to first figure out what you want in a hall. Water? Gardens? One wedding at a time? What part of LI? Mansion v. Catering Hall? Then narrow your choices down by those.

Hi, if your looking to have under 200 people you must check out the Sans Souci in sea cliff long island. Beautiful view of the water, they only host one party at a time and trust when I tell you we did over 15 tastings all over the island, nothing came close to the quality and tast of the food at the sans souci.

Good Luck and welcome
