New to the board

Hi! Just wanted to say how excited I am that I can finally be an official member here...I've been checking the board out for a few weeks now, but now I am finally engaged!!!

Xmas2003, we just got engaged on Tuesday and so far we have an appointment to visit the reception site we are REALLY interested in on LI while we're home over Christmas. I've also made plans with my sister/best friend to look at dresses in early January (I've picked out some styles/dresses I like). I also have a list of vendors (photo, limo, DJ, florist) that I've loosely compiled from recommendations on the boards. I plan on contacting them next week and setting up some appointments to visit them in January. And other than telling family and friends the happy news, that's about it!

I have much to do but am so excited!

I have been reading your posts today... you are on fire girl!!! LOL! How far have you gotten?

Yes, it's been a SLOW day at work!! HeHe I got engaged Monday night, but I've been expecting it for awhile so I have been making some plans in my head. I just haven't done anything officially before the ring came because I didn't want to 'jinx' it. Next week I am off from work so I will be able to do a lot of my booking then. There have been so many weddings in my family lately, that I have an idea of who is good and who isn't.

I've posted about some places in the city as well as Westchester. I wasn't aware of the hefty site fees in the city though, so many of the places I like will be out of the picture now.
