New to the Boards-please help with photographers

Hi everyone, I am new to these boards. Before I begin, here's a little background about me- my wedding is scheduled for 4.24.04. Our ceremony is going to be at the Interfaith Chapel at CW.Post and our reception follows at Fox Follow, in the Wintergarden Room. I am very excited! As everyone else is, I am trying to get through the planning. I've got a good amount done already but I am stuck on photographers. Originally, I booked Duet Wedding in Huntington to do my pics. Their work is terrific and the price was good. However, I had to fire them because they called me incessantly after I told them that I would call them back. My thinking: If they wouldn't listen to me before my wedding, why would they listen to me at my wedding. After looking around for almost 2 weeks on my own, I have decided to seek help from other Long Island brides. So, I registered and here I am. If anyone has any suggestions/recommentations, I would love to hear them. I apologize that this is so long. Thank you for all of your help.

Congrats you are getting married the same day as I am!! Welcome to the boards! Good luck with the photographer - I booked Mark Kauffman - I will tell you many photographers were already booked for our day.

Yesterday, merf99 posted her engagement pictures from them if you want to see an example. There is a search button on the top and you can put her name in with yesterday's date to view the thread.

I had my e-pics taken in Oct and they are fabulous! I love them! They have an office in the city and LI.

Congrats and welcome to our home. I am using Marcy Studio in Brooklyn. Chuck is wonderful to deal with and he lives at in LI.

definately check out Patken... he is used by alot of girls on this board, and they are affordable..patken

we are using North Island Photography and are thrilled about it. Michael and Debbie are true artists and their work is amazing. Check them out!

If you like do a search of people wedding pics they posted & you can see views from girls who ALREADY used their photographer & see actual photos

I getting married the same day as you!!!!! We are using Patken they were affordable and they have a different style which is why we choose them!

Like Septemberbride said, we are both using Jovon and are really happy with them. They are not pushy and really nice. They take great pics- I LOVE my e-pics!!

I vote for Imagine Studios! Several other brides are using (or have used) them also, and they've received rave reviews! My wedding is exactly two months from today, so I'll have pics of my own to post soon! Here is a link to their website: Imagine Studios

thank you all for responding. Congrats to everyone, especially Rob-luvs-me and kaangel who are getting married on the same day. After I posted, I called some of the vendors that who advertise on the site. I will call the other photographers that you have recommended. Thank you so much, I really appreciate all of your help.
