hey girls.. I am newly engaged and just joined Li weddings.. I prob won't look at any venues or do any planning until after the holidays :( does anyone have any suggestions on new and upcoming venues in the long island area?

I don't know any new and upcoming but we're going with Chateau La Mer and I have only every heard good things about it.
I would actually shy away from new and upcoming because with something like a wedding, experience is SO important in knowing what has to get done and what brides want. Reputation is everything with the hall in my opinion.

I would agree with the last comment - new isn't always the best way to go. You want to go with what you love when you see it and the reputation they have in my opin. My suggestions are to think of all the stuff that really matters to you (e.g., one wedding at a time? top notch food? great outdoor space? time of year, # of people etc.) and go see lots of places. When you see 'the one', you'll know. I went to see a few lovely places and then it was a torrential downpour on a Friday afternoon in May and I walked in the door of The Woodlands and was done!! Once you see places, search the brides reviews on here and you'll get a great feel for real weddings that occurred there and what the ladies thought of the place. Congrats and welcome!

Congrats and welcome! I agree with lauraandrob2009 . We can all suggest a RH to you but only you know when you have found the 'one' My RH is newly renovated, the food is amazing and the service is outstanding and is everything I always said I didn't want in a rh but when I walked in I knew it was the 'one' and after the food tasting we were both sold. Good luck and once you find a few places you like you can always search it in Brides review and get feedback from us!!
