New to this....what does it mean?

Ok...I think this my first official post on this board....so here goes...

I started using the clearblue easy fertility monitor....I am on day 19 and so far, I have seen no change in my levels. Does this mean that I am not ovulating? In the past few months, my cycles have ranged from 30-34 days, so I'm not sure what to make of it. Any advice? Thanks.

Sometimes it take a month or 2 for the monitor to get used to your body. Is the test asking you to urinate on the sticks?

Make sure you're doing it right, and sometimes the lines just need to look similar rather than EXACTLY the same. Most women ovulate 14 days before their period begins, but I also know of women who ovulate a 5 days before their period, see what happens. Some women also don't ovulate EVERY month. My sister in laws friend only ovulates 1 time per year, hence all of her children are born during the same time of year. Don't give up, wait anothe rmonth or so.

I just started my clear blue easy monitor this month too, BUT I am ONLY on day 5 today,
If I was you I would just have relations every other day from Now until after its says you are fertile.
I think the first month it is not as accurate as later months bc its the first month its reading your info, but you may also be ovulating late!

Best of Luck

Yes...it's still telling me to use the sticks, so that's what I've been doing. I will see what happens the rest of the month and next month....if nothing, than I will make a Dr's appt. Thanks ladies.

It sounds like you are a late ovulator, based on your cycle length. I don't ovulate till day 16-24 of my cycle, and then I get aunt flow typically 11 days later. That would make my cycle range from 27-36 days long. It is not unusual to ovulate later in the month, especially if there are any stresses going on.

I recommend the book Taking Charge (control?) of your fertility. It really helps explain the cycle and gives a lot of tips for monitoring things yourself (possibly in addition to your clearblue thing)

Good luck, and BABY DUST!!!

Ok, this may sound really silly, but can someone please explain to me how the clearblue monitor works and does everyone ttc usually use one. Thanks

I'm waiting for mine but here is the purpose of the monitor. We decided to use one because I'll be 34 and we thought it can't hurt to have the extra help in the TTC dept.
***********************************
Many Ovulation tests help determine the concentration of LH (Luteinizing Hormone) in urine samples. During a woman's menstrual cycle, LH is released from the pituitary gland and stimulates the ovaries to release a mature egg. A woman's LH level is greatest 24 to 48 hours before actual ovulation. Most of these kits have you compare a test result color and/or intensity in order to call the test positive or negative. Women can detect this increased concentration of LH, and can use that information to increase their chances of conceiving by timing intercourse or artificial insemination to that increase and the day or two following the surge.
When using the Clear Plan Fertility Monitor, on the start of the menstrual cycle, the monitor will ask the user to perform a test stick reading for 10 or 20 consecutive days depending on the length of her cycle and the timing of her lutenizing hormone (LH) surge. The monitor will show the fertility status (Low, High or Peak) during the cycle. Having intercourse or AI on days of High and Peak Fertility maximizes the chances of conception.
