New Travel Requirements for Caribbean, Bermuda, South & Central America, Mexico & Canada

I saw this thread on BHB but I thought we should all know considering it will affect us all!

As of December 31, 2005 whether or not you are traveling by air/sea, you will need a passport.

Mexico & Canada doesn't take effect til Decemeber 31, 2006

I am actually printing out the application now for FH...I want him to do it ASAP bc I feel TONS of people will start to apply now!

yeah...i had posted that! you are right.... the system probably will clog up and i don't have one yet!

I have one from 02 but FH doesn't...He must get his butt moving...Don't want to have to leave him in the airport on our HM

thats crap I was going to go to bahamas later this year I won a trip and now I gotta go through all this crap now UUUUUGGGGHHHH maybe I will do mexico instead Such a pain in the booty

and check out the weight of your luggage...when we went to Turks and Caicos in March, not only did they tell us about the passports, but the max weight of your luggage has gone down and so many people on our flight had to pay extra $$ ($100 per bag!) to get their luggage on the plane. I'm pretty sure that's not Caribbean specific though.

I thought the weight on luggage is determined by the airline???

Probably is by the airline, we flew American Airlines. SO, be careful when packing for HM...or any trip for that matter...what a waste of $$ to have to pay.
