New with a question

Hi All.. I'm new to the boards - engaged only two days now.. and very excited!

A bit backwards as we had our date picked before we were engaged... and I've started planning the major things a few months ago - this week we're booking The Riviera for our ceremony/reception.. I know who we're using for photography and i think for DJ.

My question is ... I'm still at a loss for hair and makeup. I don't have regular hair place..

And how early should I be doing trials for that stuff?

any suggestions?

sorry, i don't have much advice since I havent booked hair or makeup yet. I do have a trial set up with Oksana in August for makeup. A lot of girls rave about her if you want to check her out. She is a vendor on here.

Welcome and congrats!!! I would think you need to book them 6 months in advance. I am using the people who always do my hair and makeup and told them as soon as I set a date!!

i don't have a regular hair person either, i'm using vendors on here for hair/makeup that come to you that day

Sorry ladies - I have to disagree. Start looking now. 2 of the vendors I wanted were already booked for my date and if you just want hair and makeup for yourself, its hard to find someone who will come for the bride only. I found most vendors would only come if there were 3 or more girls to do.

Where are you looking cause if you want I can give you the name of my hair stylist. Shes been awesome. She does awesome things with hair. I might even know a makeup girl if you interested. FM me.

Congrats!!

I think it might be a good idea to find your dress that way you can bring a picture for them to work off of. To give you an idea, i am getting married a few weeks before you, and I have been gathering a list of vendors, but I will not go on trails until Sept, (hopefully have dress by then)

Thanks for the info ... I didn't think about having the dress picture with me. Definately makes a difference.
